Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often single out the roast dinner and Sunday lunch, praising generous portions, including a large Yorkshire pudding on a vegetarian roast, and a three course Sunday menu described as exceptional value. Close behind is the staff, called friendly, attentive and welcoming, with servers who accommodated a dietary requirement, welcomed diners' dogs and made a party of guests feel looked after at a buffet for an 80th birthday. Others mention a festive two course lunch that was well presented and tasty, a clean and tidy pub with a lovely outdoor area at the rear, and plenty of room for a wheelchair user. The main caveat comes from one three star review: the desserts, with a tiny ice cream sundae and a cheesecake lacking flavour, a tartare sauce served in a chipped pot, and service that slipped after the waitress finished her shift and made ordering dessert slow. Several diners mention using a percentage off voucher, and a pint of Pedigree drew praise.

“Had a lovely afternoon at the Inkwell today. Sat outside in the sun in the outdoor area at rear of the pub. Plenty of other areas outdoors too. The staff were very friendly and polite. Everywhere was clean and tidy including toilets. Really great atmosphere and spent a nice few hours there.”

“Best Restraunt experience in awhile! Came for my boyfriend's mothers birthday meal. The food was very tasty but what I liked most was the staff! We were served by multiple waitresses. However, the one that stood out to me the most was a Young lady named Sophie. She did a wonderful job at accommodating a person at the tables dietary requirement and was very warm and welcoming. Will be eating here again! :) (Dined on the 19th of July around 6pm)”

“Firstly the restaurant itself is lovely. Plenty of space for me as a wheelchair user and lots of room so you don't feel crowded. Service was very fast from lovely friendly staff. The food is excellent. Dined with my daughter and my Dad. We selected the 3 course Sunday treat menu which provides exceptional value for money, and offers a large choice. The portion sizes are generous and the quality of the food is perfect. We will definitely be returning.”
