About The Acorn Inn
The Acorn Inn is a Wetherspoon pub in Lichfield on Tamworth St, in a building that looks small from the street but runs far back. Tea and Lavazza coffee come with free refills all day, and the drinks list also includes cask ales. Pizza sits among the small plates, and the kitchen also serves burgers. Orders can be placed at the bar or through the Wetherspoon app, which brings table service. The food menu also lists vegetarian choices.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often come for value, singling out a burger, chips and a pint as a cheap lunch and a small plates deal that one group filled with pepperoni, ham and mushroom, and spicy meat feast pizzas. Close behind, several praise quick food, friendly staff, well-kept cask ales and a small beer garden at the back that catches the sun. One reviewer liked the large circular roof lights, and another notes the pub runs far back from the street with plenty of seats even when busy. Fish and chips with a drink also earns a mention. Complaints are mixed. One finds it very loud with shouting in the afternoon and says it needs a refurbishment, and another describes a staff member who was rude when asking for ID. One reviewer found drinks slow through the app, with food arriving before the drinks ordered alongside it. The app said there was no alcohol free Guinness, yet four were clearly left at the bar and the order went through fine.

“Typical Spoons, but I don’t mean that in a derogatory way. The service is efficient and friendly and the food was ok for the price point. There is a small outside seating area at the back which is a real sun trap; although there is cover if you prefer the shade. We had food and a drink for just over £10 each and the food was fine. As usual there is a good selection of cask ales which are kept well. A good cheaper alternative to the more expensive pubs in the area.”

“Came in today at lunch time for a bite to eat for Father’s Day with my dad. It was super busy and food and drinks were amazing as usual. Our server Patricia was so friendly and attentive, even said happy Father’s Day to my dad. Great service as always.”

“Food was good, staff pleasant enough. Very loud with drunken women squealing and shouting. Men more composed. Carpets and upholstery greasy and dirty. This was at 16.00 in the afternoon. Needs a refurbishment. .”

“Came here for day drinking. Can never knock an Wetherspoon for drink prices. Always busy and a decent atmosphere. Small beer garden out back, gets the sun so that’s a bonus. Toilets on the same level and close. Always worth visiting”

“The woman wearing red today (23rd April 2026) was so rude, she asked for my ID (no miners) and looking me like I was trash, I am covered in tattoo and all ready finished one of my drinks. Was over all nasty. Thank for the rest of the stuff for being nice 🙂”

For lunch and dinner, there are lighter bites, with deli deal options and vegetarian choices, gourmet burgers and freshly made pizzas. Wetherspoon has championed a wide range of drinks, including real ales, craft beers, gins and soft drinks. Table service is available via the Wetherspoon app, using our unlimited free Wi-Fi. This pub has step-free access.”
