About The Jiggers Whistle Micro Pub

The Jiggers Whistle Micro Pub pours its drinks from a small single room on High Street in Brownhills, Walsall, serving beer it does not brew on site. Real ales rotate through the taps and come by the pint, while the cider list runs wide, including still fruit ciders in flavours such as pineapple and piña colada, and the bar stocks other drinks beyond beer and cider. Lighting stays low, with lamps and background music kept quiet enough to hold a conversation. Dogs come inside with their owners, and children are welcome too. A step-free entrance lets visitors with mobility needs get in without a kerb or stair, and takeaway is available for anyone wanting a drink to carry off. Booking ahead is advised. The pub opens most days of the week and closes on Tuesdays, drawing a regular local crowd along with customers travelling in from nearby towns.

Customer Review Summary

The beer draws the most consistent praise, with regulars saying they have never had a bad pint and one describing family travelling in from Halesowen just for one. Close behind sits the cider range, named specifically in the still pineapple and pina colada, which one visitor called gorgeous. The welcome from the owners comes up repeatedly, described as warm and friendly whether it is a first visit or a hundredth, and several mention the locals folding newcomers in, with more than one expressly recommending a visit. Others note warm lamps and lighting they found relaxing and cosy, and background music pitched low enough to actually hear the person opposite. One reviewer strikes a different note, describing irregular opening hours that leave it unclear when the pub will be open, and a rule against standing at the bar that they found awkward when busy and firmly enforced. Dogs and children are welcomed throughout, one party noting their own rather vocal dogs were still made welcome.

This really is a lovely place to have a chat over a few real ales, which are excellent! We have been using Jiggers for well over a year now and we love going in there. Colin and Theresa are really welcoming as are the locals too. We often take friends and family in there as it's such a great little place. Great beers and excellent choice of Ciders .

How this listing is sourced

Where the data comes from
Name, address, hours, contact details, amenities, ratings and review counts come from the business's publicly available profile data — not from the owner and not from paid submissions.
How it stays current
Listings are re-checked in batches against their public profile, and anything reported as wrong is corrected at the source rather than patched on the page.
How it is ranked
Placement is never sold. Every business on the page is ordered and compared using the same public signals, so an owner cannot pay to move up.
