  “Hidden gem not far from Birmingham. Highly recommend this pub! We visited for Sunday dinner and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. The food was absolutely lovely—perfectly cooked, full of flavour, and exactly what you want from a proper Sunday roast.The service was equally impressive. Every member of the staff was incredibly attentive, welcoming, and made sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive.On top of the great food and service, they have a lovely outside seating area which is perfect for a relaxing drink. It is a brilliant hidden gem just outside Birmingham. We will definitely be back”

  “We visited Mare & Colt for the first time and honestly had such a lovely experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff were really friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. To start, we ordered the Soup of the Day, which was a farmhouse vegetarian soup, and the Garlic Mushrooms. The soup tasted fresh and homemade, full of flavour and perfect to start the meal. The garlic mushrooms were absolutely delicious – creamy, full of garlic, and cooked perfectly. For our mains, I had the Korean Chicken while my partner ordered the Cod & chips with Truffle Parmesan fries .The cod was lovely and flaky with a really light, crispy batter, and the chips were cooked just right. The Korean chicken was packed with flavour and had the perfect balance of sweetness and spice. We both finished our meals with nothing left on the plate! What really made the visit stand out was how attentive and friendly the staff were. They checked in on us without being over the top and made us feel genuinely welcome throughout our meal. It’s not often you leave a restaurant already talking about what you’ll order next time, but that’s exactly what we did. Great food, generous portions, excellent service, and good value for money. We’ll definitely be back and would happily recommend Mare & Colt to anyone looking for a great place to eat in Kidderminster. A well-deserved 5 stars!”

  “Lovely pub, especially on a sunny day with plenty of outdoor seating and a great atmosphere. The food was excellent, and Libby was fantastic looking after us. Mia was also brilliant with the drinks and provided great service throughout. Will definitely be back!”

  “Came for Sunday lunch. So disappointed, veg was cold and hard. The meat was dry, it was awful. We sent it back and ordered fish and chips as we wanted something fresh. Fish batter was dripping in fat. The chips and peas were nice. Wouldn't go again. Shame as when they first refurbished it, we had a nice roast there.”

  “Popped in for a bite to eat with a friend and we both had Bacon and Chicken sandwiches, some onion rings and halloumi fries....and ( bonus ) they serve Abbott ale ! My favourite pint ! Good stuff ! Place is huge and staff were very friendly too.”

  “Visited today for lunch to catch up with friends... Had a lovely welcome from Dave .. Annie took us to our table then took our drinks order ,she was very polite and drinks arrived soon after. I ordered the gammon which was delicious with lovely cooked chunky chips .. My friends meals also looked great . Great restaurant with professional staff members .. Will be returning for sure .”

  “We had a lovely family lunch here on Good Friday. Fantastic service and good food. Steak and Ale pie with mash was excellent! Children’s menu had good choice, although the burgers were a little on the small side- the giant pile of chips made up for it! The kids enjoyed their puddings - brownie and icecream was yum! Our waitress was friendly and efficient, drinks arrived promptly. Overall a great experience, thank you ❤️”

  “Great Sunday lunch today. We didn't have a reservation but we were seated quickly, the food was served quickly and was delicious. Our waitress was lovely and very polite. If we lived in the area we'd definitely be regulars. Thank you”
