About The Chef's Table
In Bristol's Harbourside, The Chef's Table is a fine dining restaurant at 1a Avon Cres, built around a five-course signature tasting menu with two or three options to choose from at each course. Amuse-bouches open the meal, and a wine flight or a non-alcoholic drinks flight can accompany the courses. The dining room is small, seating roughly a couple of dozen diners, and the open kitchen lets guests watch the pass while they eat. Lunch is served too, with a three-course seasonal menu, and a roast with a pudding trolley is also on offer. After the meal, a chef comes out to speak with diners and thank them.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers come for the tasting menu with wine pairings, most often the five-course Signature menu, and describe dishes that are beautifully presented and full of flavour. Close behind is the staff, called attentive, friendly and knowledgeable about the wines, with some noting the chef coming out to thank diners personally. Named highlights include the scallop with mashed potato and a herb-crusted brioche bun served in a clamshell, the beef fillet with liver parfait and sundried tomato jus, the blackberry soufflé, and a mint sorbet palate cleanser. Others praise the amuse-bouches, the velvety soup and the pudding trolley at a Sunday roast service. The one note of reservation is portion size: one reviewer jokes about a "saucer of food", saying the asparagus potage and a half-teaspoon of ratatouille were tiny, though they frame it as quality over quantity. Several mention birthdays and anniversaries, and the recurring close is a chef speaking to the table after the meal.

“We walked by the Avon river and randomly chose this restaurant for lunch. The food was flawless!! We ordered the three course from the seasonal menu. The starter was fresh and made us appetising. The portion of the main was just right, followed by a dessert with perfect balance of acidity and sweetness. The atmosphere was cozy, and service was warm and comfortable. Highly recommend here.”

“The food was incredible, and explained clearly how it matched the wine tastings. There was multiple options on the tasting menu, each of them unique and had a variation of flavours and textures. The service was impeccable, staff could answer all questions about the food and wines on the new menu. They made our anniversary feel really special, and the touch of the chef personally thanking us was the cherry on top. Would 100% recommend. Frankie was especially amazing!!”

“This place is AMAZING. We were very lucky to get a table here on a walk in for a Saturday lunch. The staff were so friendly, the food was absolutely incredible and the atmosphere is lovely. One of the best lunches I've ever had, and so reasonably priced! and the amuse-bouches were so delicious, I could have had a whole meal of just those. I wish I lived in Bristol so could come back again sooner, but recommending it to everyone I know who is there.”

“Wow! Birthday treat, we had the Signature Menu with one Wine-Flight and one Non-Alcoholic Drinks Flight, sampling every item on the menu by sharing. The detail on the plates is stunning and the flavours packed into each bite incredible! Lovely atmosphere, attentive and intelligent service, very cool to be able to watch the kitchen and observe the care and love at the pass, and a nice touch to speak to one of the chef's after the meal. Highlight for me was the Beef Fillet with Liver Parfait, coupled with the incredible Sundried Tomato and Jus was an incredible flavour. Melt in the mouth deliciousness! The Blackberry Soufflé was also fantastic, how so much flavour can be packed into each mouthful is a marvel 👏🏻 Definitely reserving this restaurant for more visits... 😍”

“What an unbelievably lovely place this is! My Wife and I visited The Chef’s Table for my Wife’s birthday celebration, and it was a fabulous experience indeed! We opted for the tasting menu, combined with the wine flight. Each and every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavour, so delicious! The wines were all lovely and combined extremely well with each course. A shout out to the staff that made our experience extra special. They were very attentive and friendly. Their knowledge on the wines was second to none, and the kitchen staff clearly have lots of passion for the food they prepared for us. I highly recommend The Chef’s Table, whether it’s for a special occasion or just a really nice evening out. This is a memory that’ll last a lifetime, such a lovely restaurant.”
