About The Grace
The Grace is a pub in Bristol at 197 Gloucester Rd, with artwork on the walls. The kitchen cooks a small plates menu on site, using locally sourced ingredients. Sunday lunch is a roast with vegetables, meat and gravy, and beef is among the roasts. The team works with gluten-free, vegan and allergy requests, so guests with dietary needs can talk through their order with the staff. A Christmas party package is also on offer. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Sunday roast is the most repeated draw, with beef described as spot on and plenty of veg, meat and gravy. Close behind is the handling of dietary needs: one party with a complicated set of allergies and another with a seriously gluten free diner both say staff made sure everyone was happy. Reviewers also name the Turkish stuffed peppers with homemade mojo rojo, the sea bass and the venison. The garden and a buzzy atmosphere come up often, and several suggest booking for groups or Sundays because it is popular. One reviewer reports terrible service and noise, and says the owner answered their review with a lecture about plant based diets, while another notes the Saturday beer garden is busy with noisy drinkers. A group of eleven praises how staff handled last minute changes to their Christmas package.

“Outstanding food and amazing service - the staff were SO helpful working with a complicated set of allergies, really making sure everyone was happy. If you're gluten-free or vegan, and want somewhere with genuinely delicious options, this pub is a must. Don't miss the Turkish stuffed peppers with homemade mojo rojo.”

“Never eaten here so can’t judge the food properly but it looks good from seeing other people’s! Lovely sunny garden, great drink selection and lovely staff. A Gloucester Road gem!”

“Not only is this place awful and with terrible service and terrible noise levels but, if you review them on here, the owner comes back with an awful response, including a lecture about how many people eat a plant based diet. Seriously? He/she could have just been nice about it. I maybe didn’t see the whole menu. 🤷🏻♂️ They actually openly judged my reviews (all of which are very fair!) on the basis that I reviewed a car park! It’s a large car park in London that has recently massively increased its daily rate, so quite a big deal to many people who might want to avoid paying it! So, on the basis of The Grace being run by a petty-minded person, I’m reducing my previous 2 star review to 1 star. However, I must say that I am not all that surprised by their reaction because it seemed to align with a negative vibe that I couldn’t put my finger on. Certainly it transmits through the staff.”

“We have been to The Grace a few times. Really recommend to others. Small plates, good choice and varied super tasty menu. All home cooked on site. Staff great at explaining about dishes and enthusiasm for menu shines through. Really worth a visit. We are a bit adhoc, but a table was found, if in a group may need to consider booking as is popular. Has a well designed garden space.”

“This is an amazing place - recommended and booked for us by our daughter Jess. We wanted to take my 88 year old disabled mother somewhere different for a pre -Mothers Day meal as she had just got home having spent 2 months in hospital over Christmas. The atmosphere was buzzing, the staff amazingly attentive and the food was delicious. They made my mum feel special and helped us in whatever ways they could to assist her. One of our party was also seriously gluten free - the attention and service they provided around that was literally amazing. Thank you for a lovely experience.”
