About The Bevy
The Bevy is a community pub at 50 Hillside in Brighton, with a calendar built around local events. A monthly disability disco and a Music & Memories dementia café give disabled people and people living with dementia their own sessions. Families get a free after-school session where the activity changes each week, from parachute games and craft to giant outdoor games, water play and children's entertainers. It ends with a community meal shared by everyone. Children also have an outdoor space to play. A seniors' lunch comes with bingo and a raffle, and a monthly breakfast runs alongside The Bevy Market. The pub hosts event evenings for parties too, with a sound system and kids' music. It also serves breakfast to people finishing parkrun.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often describe The Bevy as a family-friendly community pub, with the free Thursday after-school session for kids the clearest draw. One parent lists parachute games, craft, giant outdoor games and children's entertainers, plus a shared meal at the end and a good outdoor space. Close behind are the other regular events: disability discos, community lunches, the Music and Memories afternoon and breakfast after parkrun, which one visitor calls good value and relaxed. Several say it feels welcoming, with one comparing it to a big living room. Others mention cheap pints, good food "when it's on", and a birthday evening where the kids' music and sound system worked well. One visiting football fan was offered parking advice and a place on a free shuttle bus to the stadium. The one complaint is from a group who arrived to find the pub closed although it was listed as open, so they wasted the trip. Regulars close on praising the staff and the improvements made to the place.

“Came for the West Ham match, locals were incredibly hospitable, offering us parking advice and even invited us onto their free bus shuttle to the stadium and back! Unbelievable kindness from the Brighton fans and it made our day brilliant despite our loss! Thank you guys 🙏🏼”

“We go along to the free Bevy family fun after school session on Thursday most weeks, and are made to feel really welcome by the volunteers and the pub. Each week there are different activities for the kids and we have a meal together at the end. We do things like parachute games, craft, giant outdoor games, tabletennis club outings, children's entertainers, water play etc. There is a good size space outdoors for them to let off some steam. It's nice to see kids of different ages from different local schools playing together and my kids really enjoy coming along!”
