Customer Review Summary
Table service draws the most praise, with several reviewers describing a waiter who was attentive, helpful and full of smiles, one recalling advice that led to an XPA they were delighted with. The house beers come next, called outstanding by one guest, and another reviewer describes a beer tasting masterclass and brewery tour as informative and entertaining. Beer can chicken, salmon and a roast dinner are praised as meals. The kitchen draws the sharpest complaints. One diner was told two advertised Sunday roasts were unavailable, then found a missing coleslaw, cold corn on the cob and ribs that looked microwaved, and reports a partner felt ill afterward. Another found soggy onion rings and tasteless fish tacos, with the chips the highlight, and small plates sold out by mid afternoon. One overnight guest describes a midnight fire alarm and shutters rattling above the fire escape all night. In a group of 11 that had not booked, the waiter still found a table.

“Called in for food Sunday evening at about 6:30pm. Shortly after being seated, our waitress came over to take our order. There was a big board outside plus advertising cards on all the tables promoting their Sunday roasts, served all day. We selected two different roasts only to be informed they didn’t have any! Changed our order to something else on the menu. After a brief period our waitress returned to inform us that they had no mash and would chips be ok. Not ideal but not a major issue. The meals arrived a little later, one was missing the coleslaw, the salsa was made up of chopped tomatoes, the corn on the cobb was cold, and the BBQ ribs looked like ribs that were put in the microwave with a BBQ sauce plonked on the top. The other was missing broccoli as the second vegetable. The remaining vegetable was two cuts of a half carrot. We made the waitress aware of the missing items. She returned moments later with a small spoon full of coleslaw and one small broccoli floret. We had no issues with the waitress, she was doing her best, however when paying near on £24 for a main, we were left very disappointed. Topping this off my partner felt ill later, most probably as a result of the ribs not being cooked properly. As a local. we will not be eating here again and not recommend it as a nice place to eat. There are plenty of other venues in the immediate area that you will get a better deal and experience with.”

“Came with friends for a birthday meal. There 11 of us and we hadn’t booked. Jacob was absolutely fantastic in finding us a table and looked after us all so well, nothing was too much trouble! Lovely experience, we will be back soon, thank you Jacob ;)”

“Just like to offer our thanks for a really great beer tasting masterclass that my father in law and myself attended earlier this week. The tour was taken by Conner who did a really great job by showing us around and conducting some tasting. We found him to be very informative, entertaining and extremely knowledgeable with regard to his art. He didn't hesitate to answer many questions from a DIY brewer. Overall, we really enjoyed our afternoon and would not hesitate in recommending Conner to take you for your tour and tasting. The beers were excellent, all in their own way and challenged our preconceptions on modern craft beers. Well done Conner... 👍”
