About Crown
Crown is a Marstons pub on Broadhurst Ave in Northbourne, Bournemouth, run as a family-friendly local where dogs are welcome. Weekly quiz nights sit alongside a pool table and a dart board, and the pub also hosts regular community activities. The kitchen serves traditional pub food plus a lighter range of bites and grazing dishes, with a gluten free cowboy burger on the menu and allergen information available. Cask ale and wine are served from the bar, where drinks are ordered, while food is brought out to the table. Food can be ordered through an app using a table number, and tables can be reserved ahead, with the booker's name placed on the table. Amazon orders can also be collected at the pub.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often praise the food and the friendly staff, with the Mega Mixed Grill described as cooked to perfection and tasty. A gluten free cowboy burger and a chili burger that one diner called one of the best pub burgers they've had also get singled out. Staff are repeatedly called helpful and welcoming, including one who explained where to find the allergen information. Several describe booked tables ready with their name on them, ordering through the app or at the bar, and a party of eight served with only seconds between plates. Dogs were made welcome too, though one visitor found the standard pub food merely OK, nothing special. The criticism is serious but less common. One booked couple left after a long wait with no one taking their order. Another pair found the garlic mushrooms watery and frozen, the plates cold, and a steak ordered medium rare nearly blue. A midweek group missed out on two dishes, and quiz night was loud. The landlady gave that couple a full refund.

“Typical Marstons pub. Went mid week and didnt have 2 meals that our group wanted. Quiz was on which meant it was very loud. Staff were very nice and helpful”

“Absolutely lovely pub. All staff very helpful and friendly, you can order food using the app with your table number ,or you can place an order at the bar if you prefer. Quality of food excellent. We were a party of 8 , we did pre book and when we arrived our table had our name on it, all our food was delivered to our table, with only seconds in between each plate. They certainly do not keep anyone in a party waiting for their meal.”

“Me and my daughter had 2 gluten free cowboy burger each spontaneously and had a really lovely evening. We got served by this young gentleman called Reece who was really helpful explaining where we could find all off the allergen information . My daughter doesn’t really like going out for meal’s because we’ve had a few troubles in the past but if you want a meal that can provide no problems this is a great pub to go too with welcoming staff to help.”
