  “First time visiting Jamaya in Birmingham today. We were browsing around in Birmingham for some food and we fancied Jamaican 🇯🇲 food! We came across this gem in Birmingham city centre and wow glad we did! Staff were amazing and helpful as well as offered their favourite dishes too as we couldn’t decide! In the end we ordered a sharer that was great value for money which had a little bit of everything! Drinks were great too! Lots of choices to choose from on the menu! That meal fed both of us but we eat a lot! Could easily feed 3-4 people! It was a whopping £55 which was great value for money!”

  “Had another lovely visit to Jamaya, on this occasion I selected the Plantain Sunday roast, perfect choice, arrived lovely and hot very tasty. Very impressed by the Plantain twist to a roast dinner. Everyone was very happy with the meal selections, ambience of the venture. Servers very pleasant and personable. Lovely evening.”

  “I came here expecting a great introduction to Jamaican culture and cuisine on a luxurious dining experience, but unfortunately it was a very disappointing experience. It took a long time before anyone attended to us, and we eventually had to find a member of staff ourselves just to place our order. Even after ordering, we waited over 15 minutes with no drinks. For such a large restaurant that’s promoted as a cultural destination, the staffing levels were clearly inadequate, resulting in very slow service. When the food finally arrived, it was poorly prepared and did not meet expectations at all. Jerk chicken, rice and peas was so dry, side salad were screaming for moist/dressings. Overall, this was a very disappointing Jamaican dining experience. I hope management addresses the staffing and food quality issues, as the restaurant has the potential to offer much better.”

  “Staff at the colored food festival were not the friendliest. Also I saw certain people get more food then others. I thought the thing we received was a sample or something but paying £7.50 for a wing, spoon of rice and vegetables that were plain when a big meal cost £7-9 in othere stalls is crazy.”

  “Beautiful as always. Been coming here since it opened as well as the one in soilhull never disappoints always a lovely meal. Just a shame they stopped doing the strawberry frozen daiquiri 😉.”

  “Tried Jamaya Colmore Row recently and had a mixed but mostly positive experience. I ordered the Kingston Roar with jerk seasoning fries — the food was genuinely delicious. The burger was huge, packed with flavour, and definitely the highlight of the meal. The fries had a nice kick too. The ambience was really nice, with a good vibe inside the restaurant. However, the service was quite slow, especially considering it wasn’t busy at all, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, great food and atmosphere, but the service could definitely be improved. I’d still come back for the burger alone!”

  “Had a fantastic experience at JAMAYA this week. Greeted by Ashley who was absolutely brilliant, was attentive, friendly and well knowledgeable (even charged my phone for me!). Would definitely recommend a visit, I had the (hot) jerk chicken and it was brilliant. Could have been a bit spicier but the flavours were soo good. Just bear in mind portion sizes are quite large so go with an appetite. Great value, great drinks, great atmosphere, great decor. 100% recommend! Sorry I was too busy enjoying my food to take a picture :D”

  “Okay yeah so came here yesterday and it was fun it was nice the waiters are iconic love them. We came for the bottomless brunch so was really only there for the drinks which were top tier best believe me and my party left walking zigzag. However the food wasn’t that good which I guess it comes as an accessory to the drinks but like. The chicken was dry and tough like really badly. The sweet potato chips tasted like you boiled sweet potatoes and put a blowtorch on them for like two seconds no crisp factor no flavouring. They didn’t even taste like sweet potatoes which was a bit mad. There were these very small burgers which in the most unsatisfactory way just tasted like salty. Chicken with a spread of jerk seasoning between a 2cm x2 cm piece of lettuce in a brioche bun. Not toasted brioche bun just out the pack. Like I wasn’t expecting out of this world food I get it’s just bottomless brunch but like £45? Good time though would probably come back I liked the atmosphere so much”

  “What a disappointing evening. We were recommend this restaurant as one of the best Jamaicans restaurants in Birmingham. This couldn't be further from the truth, we booked the table for 20.45 we were taken to our table at 21.30. The food took a further 30 even tough thr food was pre ordered. Two of the meals were really cold . We complained, alot of attitude was shown before anything was done about it. We ordered drinks, we waited 50 minutes and i had to complain once more, i was then told that the order didn't ho through. Will never be back again and please if you are after a good service and food this is not the place. Still waiting for you to reply to my email!”

  “went for my birthday and as always had a pleasant time. the waitresses are so lovely 🥰 everything was great and they kindly gave my son some fruits and slushy drink and brownie which he loved. the food was amazing as always! me and my sister rolled out of there how stuffed we were”
