Customer Review Summary
The buffet is what most reviewers come for, and it splits them sharply. Several praise a large spread with paneer, chicken and fish, lamb kebabs, chicken tikka and masala fish, plus naans and rice, and a few single out the "table buffet" where the manager picks the dishes, ending with ice cream, brownies and a fruit platter. Close behind is the service, described repeatedly as welcoming, attentive and accommodating, with staff who kept checking whether diners needed anything and found a table for one walk-in. Reviewers also mention clean tables, a well-done decor and portions large enough for leftovers to take away. The caveats come from two one-star reviews. One diner calls the buffet curries and naan like supermarket ready meals served lukewarm, and says a reserved table was not given until well after arrival. Another reports a collected Tarka Dhal order costing more than the restaurant's website showed, and says staff declined to print a receipt and instead wrote the total on paper and suggested a photo.

“Very disappointing first experience with Jalebi Sheldon. I placed a collection order for one large Tarka Dhal and one small Tarka Dhal. When I checked the restaurant's own website, the total came to £11.40. However, when I collected my order, I was charged £16.75, which is £5.35 more than the advertised price. When I politely asked for a proper computer-generated receipt to understand the extra charges, the staff refused to provide one. Instead, they wrote the order and total on a piece of paper and told me to take a photo of it. I wasn't given any clear explanation for the price difference or why the website price didn't match what I was charged. Pricing transparency and proper receipts are basic expectations from any business. This experience has seriously affected my confidence in the restaurant's billing practices. Unfortunately, after this experience, I don't think I'll be ordering from here again.”

“Tasteless, Subpar and Inauthentic. We had the buffet and the it was the most inauthentic Indian food I may have ever had. Tasted like fridge/ freezer meals you would get from Tesco/Asda which gets repeatedly heated and gets cold within 2 minutes. Naan tasted like cardboard/pizza dough which was obviously not fresh and heated up on a thin pan. All the curries felt like they were from ready made jars that you would get in supermarket with cooked chicken thrown in them. See in the pic below. Maybe the menu items are better but the very obviously wanted us to have the buffet (more money for them) saying menu items will take time, in hindsight we should’ve left as soon as that was said to us. £100+ for 4 people. Absolutely shambolic and disgusting. A reservation was made too but table was given to us 25min after arrival, another red flag in hindsight. Would not recommend at all for casual dining or any sort of dining honestly”

“First time visiting this restaurant, had a great experience, the decor was done well gave the restaurant a lovely atmosphere. The tables were very clean and the selection on the menu was extensive. I came with my husband and 2 young children we went for the buffet which was excellent, the selection and quality was very good. So many items for starters, main and dessert. The service was probably one of the best I have experienced in a restaurant very welcoming and accommodating. Would highly recommend.”

“This was the most incredible Indian I’ve ever had, I say this having had been to India multiple times! The staff are even better than the food if that’s possible, I honestly can’t recommend it enough. Cleanliness was 10/10, service 10/10, portion size 10/10. They simply cannot do enough to to elevate your experience and accommodate you. Thank you so much everyone!”

“I went here with a group after a training day and I was not disappointed, the food was amazing, tasty, enough on portion size and the staff were attentive. Great value and will be back!”
