About Biryani Box
Biryani Box is an Indian restaurant at 563 Warwick Rd in Birmingham, built around slow-cooked Hyderabadi Dum Biryani that the kitchen makes fresh each day without freezers. The biryani is served with chicken 65, boiled eggs, raita and Mirchiyon ka salaan, and both chicken and lamb versions are on the menu. For bigger appetites, the Chicken Biryani Jumbo pack feeds four to five people. The kitchen prepares halal food, and the team also caters weddings, corporate events and parties. Anyone who wants a different heat level can call ahead and ask the staff to adjust the spice.

What reviewers say
Reviewers most often mention hyderabadi biryani, chicken 65, haleem and lamb biryani.
Customer Review Summary
Most reviewers come for the Hyderabadi biryani, praised as authentic, with the lamb biryani and the Tahari singled out and chicken 65 and haleem close behind. Several mention generous portions and good value, and one says a jumbo chicken biryani pack was more than enough for a family of six. The charcoal grilled chicken burger in the munch box gets smoky praise too, and service is described as friendly and welcoming. The complaints are specific. One regular found the lamb biryani repeatedly sold out and collection slow despite phoning ahead, and requests for dry Gobi 65 and milder fried rice were not followed. A delivery order tasted as if it had been prepared the previous day, and another diner found the biryani microwaved and too spicy, with watery yoghurt and rubbery chicken 65. One reviewer suggests calling ahead to pre-order, and another says the spice level can be adjusted if staff are told beforehand. One table finished with double ka meetha and was given complimentary black tea and buttermilk.

“Without a doubt they made the best Tahari I ever had in UK. They’ve got value for Money, Quality and most of all they captured the authentic Hyderabadi taste. Wholeheartedly recommend.”

“The worst biryani I’ve ever had. It tasted like it had been microwaved, so spicy it burnt my tongue and the yoghurt was so watery it was like drinking water. Very disappointing. The chicken 65 was full of chicken fat and rubbery avoid”

“Me and my family absolutely love the food at Biryani Box. We had Lamb biryani and haleem, it reminds you of authentic hyderabadi taste. This is the second time we have come here. Spice level is for adults, they can adjust spice level if called in before and let the staff know. Over all 10/10”

“I ordered Chicken Biryani and Chicken 65 through ubereats. Unfortunately, the food quality was not good. It seemed like the food had been prepared the previous day rather than being freshly made. I was so excited when I placed my order, but I ended up feeling really disappointed. I hope you can improve the freshness and quality of the food so that other customers have a better experience.”

“Well deserve 5/5 stars.. Truly enjoyed authentic Hyderabadi Biryani, Haleem, chicken 65.. delicious, good quantity and excellent service more over reasonable price. What you see in the photo is the Chicken Biryani Jumbo pack 4-5 people but it was more than enough for family of 6. Those who are looking for Authentic and no comprise on taste then try this place and I’m sure you won’t regret and will surely thank me for the honest and genuine review and leave your 5/5 reviews.”
