Customer Review Summary

Diners single out the fig and goat cheese salad and the Sunday lunches, with the cauliflower cheese and schnitzel frequently praised, while the goats cheese pizza and spicy vegan burger also earn mentions. The interior’s spacious, modern layout and the covered, heated garden draw consistent compliments, as do the friendly, attentive staff who keep the busy pub flowing. Several note the wide beer selection and the cosy, lively atmosphere. Recurring complaints include the small burger portion, the watery plum and apple dessert, and the discretionary 12.5% service charge, with one reviewer objecting to the added cost. The accessible front area and clean bathrooms are also highlighted.

First time visit to be very welcomed to this very busy and popular pub on Harborne High Street. Astounded by its tardis like interior stretching all the way back to the open patio at rear. Very nice interior too. Our meal was served quickly, mine was a disappointingly small burger in bun, my partner a large chicken schnitzel. A good range of beers keg and some craft. Lovely welcoming staff who kept a busy place flowing smoothly. Accessible to the front part unless one manages the single step to the rest of the pub.

Didn't stay in the hotel, but stopped for lunch. Staff very attentive and helpful. Lovely decor and plenty of space between tables so you aren't on top of each other. Also meant plenty of room for the pushchair. …

Good table service. Limited menu but good for pizza selection. Schnitzel two good portions, and coleslaw side good accompaniment - needed as …

My daughter booked this place for a Sunday lunchtime get together. Not knowing what to expect the outside gave no clues as to what was inside. Modern, eclectic, large segmented layout, it's all there. The staff we interacted with were excellent, friendly and extremely obliging. I had a bit of an issue with the ale but I was impressed with the bar staff who put it right. The Sunday lunches were very good, the sliced beef is obviously bought in, and will vary from day to day, but that's true for so many places these days. The sides and vegetables were excellent, especially the cauliflower cheese. Conversely my plum and apple dessert was awful, watery, soggy with no apple, and it had obviously been nuked by a microwave. The other desserts seemed to be fine. And then the bill, a discretionary 12.5% tip added to the bill which we felt made it expensive for what we had. I prefer to leave a tip on the table, to reward those who served us and it's tax free.

How this listing is sourced

Where the data comes from
Name, address, hours, contact details, amenities, ratings and review counts come from the business's publicly available profile data — not from the owner and not from paid submissions.
How it stays current
Every listing is re-checked on a recurring crawl, and anything reported as wrong is corrected at the source rather than patched on the page.
How it is ranked
Placement is never sold. Every business on the page is ordered and compared using the same public signals, so an owner cannot pay to move up.
