About Lavery's
Lavery's is a pub on Bradbury Place in Belfast, and it is Belfast's oldest family-owned bar, bought by the Lavery family in 1918. The building spans three floors, with pool tables that host a pool league and screens around the bar for watching football. Karaoke nights run with a host, and a stand-up comedy night seats the audience on chairs set close together. Pints of Guinness are poured at the bar, including a pour-a-pint experience for anyone who wants to try it. The food menu lists chicken wings and pizza, and the chips are cooked in a separate fryer. A private dining room gives groups their own space, and dogs are welcome. Lavery's sits next door to Darcys, and a wait for a table is possible when it is busy.

Customer Review Summary
Karaoke nights are what reviewers mention most, with one describing a friendly host and a booked afternoon session, and others praising the karaoke alongside the music and pool tables. Close behind are the pints of Guinness, including a pour-your-own-pint session where a bar man taught the technique and guests left with a t-shirt and certificate, and the stand-up comedy night, called a great laugh though one reviewer found it cold under the air conditioning with chairs squeezed tightly together. Diners also point to wings and honey chilli chicken, one gluten and dairy intolerant guest noting staff easily identified safe options cooked in a separate fryer, plus a pizza. Football on the big screens draws sports fans, and a pool league group says door staff make them feel welcome and safe. The one recurring complaint is small: a table not cleaned properly left gravy on a diner's arm, and two drinks had to be reminded onto the bill.

“We attend Lavery’s regularly for our Belfast Sapphic Pool league and have nothing but kind things to say about staff. The door staff in particular always greet us with a smile and make us feel very welcome. As a minority group, it is super important for us to feel safe in a space and Lavery’s always exceed our expectations with doing so.”

“Love the atmosphere of the bar! Drinks are cheap but great and the staff are lovely! Always good craic to be had, great music and pool tables are always a plus. Love the karaoke nights too! Great place for a night out. Couldn’t recommend more”

“Brilliant time at the comedy club! Was a bit cold as we were under the air conditioning. Right squeeze with the chairs together but it’s great being up close and personal with the comedians.”

“We had a great afternoon on Saturday past, booked the karaoke, it was brilliant, the host was very friendly and so much fun. The bar was well stocked and well staffed, no waiting around, lots of space to sit out in the sun and we finished off with a beautiful pizza before we left. Will definitely be back for another Karaoke night!!”
