About The Garrick
The Garrick is a Victorian pub in Belfast, at 29 Chichester St, with panelled and tiled interiors spread across three bars. Live music and DJs add entertainment alongside the pub menu, which includes Irish stew and bangers and champ. Guinness is on the drinks list, with a selection of bottled beers, and the bar staff can suggest a local ale. Each of the three bars gives groups and solo visitors a choice of rooms, and the pub runs on a walk-in basis. Sports matches are shown on screens.

Customer Review Summary
The Belfast coffee is what reviewers raise most, a cold brew Irish coffee topped with fresh cream that one visitor calls a favourite drink of the trip and another takes as the signature finish to a meal. Close behind is the Guinness, described by several as the best they have had, and the food, with bangers and champ, Irish stew and burgers with crispy chips singled out as tasty. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and cheeky, even when busy, and a few mention reasonable prices, a rustic atmosphere and sports matches on screen. A few reviewers are less convinced. One says the trad music had finished by around 7:30pm on a weekend, and another found it just a standard pub. The sharpest complaint comes from a diner told the pie of the day was chicken and veg, who received a beef pie with a couple of tiny mushrooms, plus chips instead of the champ ordered. Both that diner's meal and a friend's chicken burger were described as crazy salty, though the staff were still called polite, and the bottled beer selection was praised.

“Asked about the pie of the day and the bartender went off and checked, came back told me it was chicken and veg so I ordered it - what arrived out was a beef pie with 1 or 2 tiny mushrooms in it. I’d also ordered champ on the side and it arrived with chips. Luckily i eat beef so I didn’t bother complaining (too much effort) but it was so ridiculously salty I left about half of it behind. My friend had the chicken burger and chips and she said hers was crazy salty too. Very unorganised. Staff were grand - polite. Very good selection of bottled beers. But definitely would not go back here again.”

“Without doubt one of the best pubs in Belfast. The Guinness was probably the best I had anywhere in the city, and the food was absolutely outstanding. The menu offers fantastic local cuisine, everything was cooked perfectly and the atmosphere was brilliant. The staff were friendly and attentive, making for a great evening from start to finish. I’d highly recommend The Garrick to anyone visiting Belfast, and I’d honestly travel back to the city just to spend another evening here.”

“Lovely pub has everything you’d hope to find in one: cozy, sound food, nice drinks, fun staff. Enjoyed a couple of nice burgers with crispy chips. The Guinness was delicious and highly recommend the Belfast coffee, which was my favorite drink I had in Belfast. It’s a cold Irish coffee beverage made with delicious cold brew and fresh cream on top. Great pick me up! The bar staff were all cheeky and wonderful despite it being very busy. Highly recommend stopping in here.”

“Came here at the recommendation of a local business owner as it’s his favorite after work spot. We went earlier in the afternoon. Nothing special. Just a standard pub.”
