About Ora Wine and Tapas
On Great Victoria St in Belfast, Ora Wine and Tapas is a tapas bar serving small sharing plates with an Asian-influenced slant. The bang bang chicken sits on the menu beside scallops, mussels and pork dumplings, and a charred cabbage dish gives the table a vegetable option. A cheese board is available, and dessert includes bread and butter pudding with caramel ice cream. A sommelier and the floor team help guests choose their wine. Reservations are required, and seats around the bar are part of the room.

Customer Review Summary
Bang bang chicken is the dish diners name most, and several describe the Asian influenced small plates as full of flavour. Close behind are the scallops, charred cabbage, mussels and pork belly, while the tempura monkfish, ribs, dumplings and cheese board each get a mention. Reviewers also credit the sommelier with helpful wine choices and describe the staff as friendly. The complaints are fewer but specific. One reviewer says a manager refused a table booked for three couples, claiming it was only for five, and was dismissive and offered no apology. Two others found the dishes expensive for their size, one adding that plates arrived randomly and the night felt rushed. A fourth felt the lamb skewer should have come as two rather than one. Another reviewer was told beforehand that food would arrive in stages and was fine with it. Desserts draw some of the warmest comments, especially the bread and butter pudding with caramel ice cream, which a few diners name as their favourite of the meal.

“Very poor experience. This was my second visit, on the first visit, the food was just okay but overpriced for what you get. We decided to give it another try after being invited by friends. On arrival, we were initially greeted politely and asked to wait at the bar while our table was prepared. However, the manager then intervened and told us we would not be eating there, claiming the table was only for five people. This was despite us having clearly booked for three couples over the phone and receiving confirmation. When we queried this, the manager was dismissive and rude, offering no apology and placing the blame on us before telling us to leave. The situation was handled unprofessionally and lacked any basic level of customer service. As a result, we were left scrambling to find an alternative at short notice, with most places already fully booked. Overall, a disappointing and frustrating experience. I would not return”

“An absolutely fantastic restaurant. We had a brilliant time here. We loved the relaxed atmosphere - we sat at the.seats around the bar. It was a really appetising menu that we could have chosen most of the items. There were some highlights - tempura monk fish, the potatoes, bang bang chicken, ribs. Everything was strong on flavour and beautifully cooked. Staff knew the menu well and managed a perfect blend of efficiency and friendliness. The wine was so well chosen. We ended up having the most sublime bread and butter pudding with caramel ice cream and it the cheese board. Great sharing plates in a wonderful space. We cannot recommend it highly enough.”

“We really enjoyed our recent dining experience and found the food beautifully presented and extremely flavoursome, paired with impeccable service and smooth cocktails. My only gripe would be that when the lamb skewer (£17) arrived, there was only one, I feel 2 skewers would be more appropriate, especially to compliment the tapas theme of the restaurant.”

“Been recommended for ages. Was not disappointed. Food was beautiful, very good portions and creative touches to standard dishes. The Rhubarb Crème Brûlée and Sticky Toffee Pudding was the best I have ever had!!”

“Me and my partner visited over the weekend. We loved everything about this experience. They didn't have any tables available so we stayed at the bar. Food didn't came at once but we were told that would happen and we were ok with it. Food was amazing. We loved the charred cabbage and the bang chicken. Food was so good that I forgot to take more pics.. Drinks were good too. Lovely staff.”
