  “Arrived in Belfast today for my 30th Bday celebrations and had a good first day. Went for dinner here tonight with my Girlfriend as we were stuck between here and The Lantern as we wanted to get an authentic Irish food experience. We weren’t sure where the restaurant bit was so asked an employee who was part of the bar staff downstairs who was blonde and lost her voice, Didn’t know her name but she was very helpful shame she was the only helpful one so that can be passed on. Got sat down all fine and we didn’t know how to order food as they took a while to come serve us so we asked and then got served both drinks and food which was all fine. Food was lovely so can’t fault it but then they took ages to come clear our table even though it wasn’t busy at all. We know there was an event on but didn’t seem busy upstairs. They never came over to check if everything was okay during the 2 hours we were there but was fine to check on everyone else including some Americans behind us which one of the staff knew. We were just going to ask for the bill but we’d been waiting so long I thought I’d have a dessert I wanted. We then asked for the vegan alternative for the apple crumble on the menu (as I have an allergy to egg and dairy) they again took about 30 minutes to bring this out and it was just a hot pot of apple sauce, No crumble because they said it wasn’t gluten free even though I specifically said I just wanted the vegan alternative on the menu. After finishing this I had to ask for the bill after waiting another 20 minutes and then another 10 minutes before I could ask for the card machine as we only got things if we asked for them. All in all good food terrible service. I know nothing will be done but wanted to give my thoughts. Wouldn’t ever return there or recommend to friends.”

  “i have put 5 star on every category , but if google does have more atar to out i will definitely put more than 5 on the service, there is this guy name Ronny , a wonderful all rounder at morning star . Very warmth welcome , so much understanding and a smart wise guy truely, he gave more taste more poaitive vibe and more to everything in this establishment , And btw , i will recommend everything with words "stout" and "guinnes" from the menu list”

  “Exceptional service, our server Ronnie was attentive and very friendly! Managed our large group booking with ease. Food was delicious and came quickly, cocktails from the bar were wonderful. Thank you! 🇨🇦🫶🏻”

  “Great racing man's pub love the atmosphere here and the food was delicious. I had the morning star burger and it was gorgeous amazing flavour on the burger itself and the bone marrow flavor came through nicely and not overpowering, the only complaint I have is there was too much sauce on the burger (which is strange for me to say as I love a good amount of sauce usually) other than that it was fantastic and I cannot wait to go back to try a steak!”

  “We went here after 2.5 weeks touring around Ireland and this was one of the best meals we had. The service is great and the flavours of the food are incredible. I had a beef & Guiness pie & I’d like another now as I write this post.”

  “We went for dinner after having had food here a couple of months ago and it was fantastic. The experience this time however was far from that. Our drink order was taken quickly enough but had to wait a long time before or food order was taken. There was a large table had there order taken before us so it was understandable we had to wait a bit of time for our food however our reservation was made for 5.30pm and we were only getting our food at approximately 6.40pm, we needed to be left the restaurant by 7.10 to be a at a concert. We had two 14oz Chateaubriand. These were brought out with just one plate and they are a sharing dish, was nearly impossible to get hold of the sever to ask for another plate so my partner and daughter had to eat of the serving plate. They were also brought the wrong sauce, they ordered béarnaise they received peppercorn. They did say that the steak was ok. I ordered steak pie to say I was disappointed with the lack of meat, three small bits I was told that the beef was slow cooked and that may be the case however the lack of meat was ridiculous three small cubes of beef were below the pastry, also one half of a carrot that was more than al dente it would have broke a tooth. I was offered to change it but we did not have time to wait as we needed to leave for our concert. I did not eat my meal and I asked for the bill they had charged me £22 for my meal and also A service charge. I refused to pay for the meal however I did pay the service charge. Like I said the restaurant was busy and the staff were kept on their toes however the kitchen was giving out food that was not to the standard we had on our last visit.”

  “I have been to The Morning Star multiple times now & it never disappoints. The food is actually phenomenal, I always go for the 24oz, 36oz or pre-ordered 48oz rump steak (depending how hungry I am😅) it always comes served on a hot skillet, plus I add on all the trimmings. Trust me when I say, it tastes unbelievably good. Proper mouth watering stuff. I have been to Top Blade, Stix & Stones, McHughs Bar & many other steak houses in town & this is by far the best! Not just because of the quality of food but for the reasonable prices compared to other bars/restaurants, more importantly the customer service is excellent & makes the experience even better. Owen always takes care of us & is so down to earth & easy to talk to. He makes you feel right at home & his banter is 10/10. All factors that make me want to go time & time again. Would most definitely recommend this place to anyone & Thanks Owen for always going above & beyond & making it so special for us. 5 stars all day long!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐”

  “This place was everything and more! I was looking for a place to have some authentic Irish food and feel, and this place was it. I got seated right away, even thought it was very busy inside. My waitress(young girl from Australia I think) she was phenomenal. Very kind and was on top of it, even though she was slammed with customers. I loved my experience here!”

  “Has our team Christmas dinner here last night and had a great experience. The food was was lovely and our servers were excellent, especially Joanne, who although she was new and a little unsure, she really did her best to make sure we were happy, fed and watered. The tomahawk steak was cooked perfectly and the advice for three to share it was spot on.”

  “Recommended to us by locals for its quality beef offering and value. We were impressed by the number of awards received too. Our meals were delicious. The sharing t-bone platter was a delight, thoroughly enjoyable. Children's size joint of the day is a winner too.”
