About The Green Bird Cafe
On Margaret's Buildings in Bath, The Green Bird Cafe is a cafe whose breakfast menu includes Turkish eggs. French toast comes two ways, with cherry compote or with bacon and maple syrup. Poached eggs arrive on toast or sourdough, with avocado on the side. The drinks list covers smoothies, fresh squeezed fruit juices and coffee. Some tables are tucked around the back, beyond the front seating. The cafe does not take bookings, so it runs on walk-ins, and a line forms outside during the breakfast rush.

Customer Review Summary
Brunch dishes draw the most praise. Reviewers name French toast most often, served with bacon and maple syrup or with cherry compote, along with poached eggs on toast or sourdough and Turkish eggs. The Spanish inspired menu is also said to have plenty for vegetarians. Coffee comes close behind, with a mocha, a rich and flavorful cappuccino and a double macchiato singled out, plus fresh squeezed juices and smoothies. Staff are described as friendly, welcoming and quick, and the room as cozy, bright and airy. The recurring complaint is crowding. Reviewers say the cafe fills up fast, a line forms outside during the breakfast rush, and getting a table may mean a wait, though a few tables sit hidden at the back. Others object that English breakfast and herbal tea cost far too much for a teabag. One found a beetroot salad too sweet with blue cheese, one found service a tad slow, and one said the toilets could be better. Even after finishing, one party was left to chat until ready to go.

“We had great food at this cute little place in a lovely area not far from the Royal Crescent. The toilets could be better and service was a tad slow but we still had a lovely lunch here”

“MUST TRY BUT ARRIVE EARLY BECAUSE CAFE FILLS UP SURPRISINGLY FAST EVEN THOUGH PLENTY OF TABLES. LINE UP OUTSIDE GETS LONG DURING BREAKFAST RUSH! Amazing mocha coffee - we thought we would try and have never had a mocha so amazing before. FOOD WAS EXCELLENT and service doesn’t get any better🤩 RETURNED FOR LUCH later on the day. Excellent fresh squeezed fruit juices and smoothies - very refreshing. 5 min wait at 1:00 for 3 people but still inside and outside tables full. Side note re beet root salad - would have enjoyed more if salad was not so sweet and had feta instead of blue cheese - but realize others may love it😉”

“If you can get a table (you may need to wait) this is a great spot for a brunchey style lunch. Bright and airy with efficient service. So handy for the tourist hotspots ((Crescent/ Circus) . Reasonable prices for Bath.”

“Amazing breakfast, delicious coffee in a lovely atmosphere near The Circus and Royal Circle. Recommended.”

“The food is good quality and it is a nice breakfast/ brunch stop. I would recommend. The only thing I will say is £3.20 for an english breakfast tea is absolutely taking the michael. It is also £3.20 for a herbal tea when the teabags only cost 20p each. Should not be priced above £2.”
