Customer Review Summary

Brownies draw the most repeated praise at Good Day Cafe, with one reviewer working through the whole range and calling the salted caramel and pretzel version a standout, while another found the strawberry shortcake brownie far too sweet and dense to finish. Breakfast and brunch dishes sit close behind: poached eggs on sourdough with garlic mushrooms, Turkish eggs with chilli oil, smashed avocado toast, beef brisket french toast and the signature pancakes. A ciabatta special with whipped pesto and chorizo and a granola bowl also get mentions, and coffee and a pumpkin spiced white hot chocolate are described as good. Staff are repeatedly called friendly, the line at the connected bakery is said to move quickly, and one reviewer notes the cafe is very dog friendly. The recurring complaint is cost. One reviewer calls it more expensive than expected despite generous portions, and another counted a bill several pounds lower than what was charged, with no receipt to query it. Even so, that diner still called the breakfast incredible.

“A nice spot for a light lunch, with decent coffee and quite tasty food. We especially enjoyed the granola bowl (with greek yoghurt, delightfully not-too-sweet compote and granola) and the Good Day special of ciabatta with a whipped pesto, thinly sliced chorizo, mozzarella and rocket - very flavourful and surprisingly filling. The only disappointment was the strawberry shortcake brownie.. it was far too sweet, way too dense, and we couldn't eat more than a couple of bites. Others might like this level of sweetness, though, so maybe it was just not to our taste. The staff were very friendly, and the place is well located.”

“This cafe has become one of my absolute favourite breakfast spots. The food is consistently amazing, the atmosphere is lovely, and the service always makes you feel welcome. But the real star for me is the brownies. I’m a complete brownie snob and have very high standards when it comes to them. I’ve been slowly making my way through all the different brownies they offer, and somehow every single one has been incredible. Rich, fudgy, perfectly balanced — never dry, never overly sweet, just genuinely some of the best brownies I’ve ever had. If you love a great breakfast and take your brownies seriously, this place is an absolute must visit.”

“Definitely generous with the food portion. However more expensive than expected. I do love that they have a bakery connected to their restaurant so easy to grab a bite on the way out for later the day.”

“Visited with my wife for a Sunday breakfast. We were promptly greeted and seated on a bench beside the front door. Service, quality of the food & presentation was flawless throughout. Quite a busy café with lots of diners inside and out. A good spot just off a main walkway, an ideal for people watching. We also had a brownie & a piece of cake to take away with us, delicious treats for us to enjoy later. •Flat White with Caramel Shot •Mixed Loose Leaf Mint Tea •Frobishers Mango Juice •Smashed Avocado toast & extra poached egg •2 Poached Eggs on Toast •Salted Caramel & Pretzel Brownie •Lemon & Blueberry Cake”

“What a perfect cute little brunch day out! Such a cozy little cafe with the sweetest vintage vibe and the cutest corners everywhere. The food turned out SO good especially the Turkish eggs bowl with the creamy yogurt with the perfect amount of chilli oil and perfectly poached eggs with sourdough on side🤌 And the signature pancakes were so soft and comforting too. Everything about this place just felt warm, cozy, and happy🤎”
