About Warmley Waiting Room
Warmley Waiting Room is a cafe in Bristol, set in the old Warmley railway station waiting room beside the Bristol and Bath Railway Path. The toilet is housed in a TARDIS police box in the garden. The menu starts with a cream tea of scones and a hot drink, and toasted tea cakes are also served. For something savoury, the kitchen makes smashed avocado and egg on toast, where the bread can be swapped for gluten-free, and jacket potatoes are available too. Oat milk and soya milk are offered for those avoiding dairy. The cafe is open daily, and it sells ice creams and lollies.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the cream tea, with two scones and a hot drink, and the toasted tea cakes, alongside a Turkish delight hot chocolate topped with fresh cream. Victoria sponge, bacon rolls and smashed avocado and egg on toast also get mentions, and one reviewer praises gluten-free bread swaps and jacket potatoes. Close behind is the setting: an old railway waiting room on the cycle path, with a garden, covered seating, bunting and flowers, treats and an ice cream for dogs, and a toilet in a TARDIS that several reviewers mention with delight. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly, and some note a queue that moves quickly. The complaints are few but specific. One reviewer says a server became extremely rude over a duplicated coffee order and, according to another customer, accused them of stealing the extra drink. Another found the avocado on toast underwhelming for its price, with only one piece of toast. A couple of reviewers call the food fairly basic. Reviewers also mention a small car park that fills quickly.

“Nice location but £5.50 for this avocado on toast was underwhelming. At least give two pieces of toast for this price.”

“Excellent tea and victoria sponge. The tardis toilet is disappointingly the same size on the inside 😅”

“After walking part of the Bristol to Bath path, decided to have a sit down here. A beautiful, clean waiting room, Ordered bacon roll, coffee for my son Hot chocolate, toasted tea cake for me Lovely...... The lady served the coffee through the hatch, I waited for hot chocolate, then she served another coffee to me. I explained, my son now had his coffee, I was waiting for my hot chocolate. (food served separately in seated area) She tutted about the coffee.. Then she gave me my hot chocolate, with another coffee. I explained again. She became extremely rude. Other customers noticed this and commented to me. I joined my son, was given ou food, which was lovely, but another customer then came to me n said the lady who made the mistake with the drinks accused me of stealing an extra coffee! Apparently he corrected he, I thanked him as I did not steal anything. I spoke to another lady working there and asked her to tell the drinks lady to stop being so rude. All of this was quite upsetting”

“Love this place and visit approx 3 x per week when out walking the dog. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There's always treats on the counter for 4 legged friends. Good selection of cakes, sandwiches , hot and cold food. Can highly recommend the cream tea or the T- Cakes. Selection of hot and cold drinks. Icecream ( including doggy version) and ice lollies. The gardens are very pleasant to sit in. Covered seating areas too. The loo is a police box- a real novelty for children. All in all, I highly recommend it. Great stop off whether walking or cycling .”

“Warmly Waiting Room is a hidden gem and one of the most peaceful cafes I’ve visited. It’s located right beside the Bristol and Bath Railway Path, making it perfect for cyclists and walkers looking for a relaxing stop. The atmosphere is calm and inviting, with a mix of indoor seating in the cosy converted station building and outdoor seating on the old platform surrounded by greenery. The layout and setting make it easy to unwind and enjoy the surroundings. I had the Turkish delight hot chocolate, which was absolutely delicious. It came with a generous swirl of fresh cream on top that melted into the rich, velvety chocolate, creating a smooth and indulgent drink. The cocoa flavour was deep and satisfying, perfectly balanced and not too sweet. It was the kind of drink that makes you slow down and savour every sip, especially while watching cyclists pass by and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. The cafe has so much character and history. It was originally Warmley Railway Station, opened in 1869, and closed to passengers in the 1960s. The building has been lovingly restored and now forms part of the Bristol and Bath Railway Path. The quirky touches, like the toilet housed in a full sized tardis, add charm and make the visit memorable. The garden area is also beautiful, with plenty of space to sit and relax. What I loved most was how peaceful and unhurried the whole experience felt. Between the friendly staff, historic setting, and that amazing Turkish delight hot chocolate with cream, this café is a must-visit. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a calm and charming spot to stop and enjoy a great drink.”
