About The Abbey Deli
The Abbey Deli is a cafe at 2 Abbey St in Bath, and it is home to the Modiste Dress Shop from Bridgerton, so Bridgerton memorabilia is sold alongside the food. Wisteria covers the front of the building near the abbey. Inside, tables spread across three rooms with dark wood panelling and pictures throughout, and cups and saucers are mounted on the ceiling of the back room. Afternoon tea comes as a three-tier tower of sandwiches, scones and clotted cream, and it is booked in advance. The menu also includes eggs benedict and chorizo quiche with salad, plus smoothies, shakes, tea and coffee. Tea is sold to take home. The cafe is open daily, daytime only.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often point to the quirky interior of this Bridgerton-linked tea room, especially the cups and saucers mounted on the ceiling of the back room, with the wisteria outside and the view of the tree also praised. Staff are described as lovely and friendly in most accounts, and several call the inside relaxed and cosy. Food draws mixed but mostly warm comments: afternoon tea arrived with salmon cream cheese, ham and cheese, and cheese and onion jam sandwiches plus scones with a huge portion of clotted cream, while others single out the eggs benedict, mango smoothie, chorizo quiche and chocolate chip banana bread. One reviewer calls the food average though the drinks and shakes delicious, and another found the sandwiches lost on the plate and the smoothie underwhelming. One visitor near closing felt unwelcome when two staff seemed annoyed at photos being taken. Seating is called roomy by one and cramped by another. One reviewer notes the kitchen was upfront about a sandwich wait and kept to the stated time.

“Don’t let the hideous plastic flowers dangling down the front windows put you off this place, it is very cosy inside, the food is fresh and delicious and the staff really lovely.”

“Must visit for Bridgerton fans. The food is average but the drinks and shakes are delicious. Cosy but cramped seating, the staff is lovely. You can get some pricey Bridgerton memorabilia and expensive tea here.”

“I stopped in because I'm a Bridgerton fan and the outside was very inviting. I found the atmosphere to be relax and welcoming. I loved the out of the ordinary decor. I didn't order any food items just a coffee. It was coffee. I think it's a cute little place to have a tea party, a relaxed lunch or sweet treat. I would definitely say to at least stop in and get a coffee or a small sweet. It's worth the visit.”

“I can't say too much about the food as I only ordered a smoothie, but unfortunately it was quite underwhelming and nothing particularly memorable. What stood out most to me was the service, which was disappointing. I visited close to closing time and the café was very quiet, with no other diners inside. I was taking a few photos of the interior, as it's a well-known spot and has a connection to Bridgerton, but the two staff members working seemed visibly annoyed by this. I understand that staff are often ready to finish up towards the end of the day, but I felt unwelcome and uncomfortable because of their attitude. The service came across as cold and unfriendly, which put a dampener on the experience. I will say that the venue itself is very pretty and worth seeing, especially if you're a Bridgerton fan. Unfortunately, beyond the setting, the smoothie and customer service didn't leave a great impression.”
