  “Popped in here for a quick spot of dinner on a Sunday night. There was ample room and we sat outside watching the Wimbledon Men’s Final. We sat in the sunshine and ordered several small plates and two mains. Food was brought quickly and of a good quality. We ate and left very full.”

  “Came for a Sunday roast. The prices are top end so the expectation is also high. Service is slow despite us coming at 12 as they started service with many empty tables at that point. My food was so poor (Roast Beef) I immediately asked for a refund, and seeing what other people in my group ordered I did not want an alternative item. The food is awful, the roast potatoes were bruised black and boiled at best, not roasted or considered. Poor portion size, and the service comparable to Fawlty Towers. One in our group asked on ordering to swap the cauliflower cheese for another item and was told no, the menus is set and we can’t change anything. Very inflexible. When I asked for the refund, it was granted to me but I was clearly being judged by the team. This venue relies purely on its location which is nice. Especially on a sunny day, but in honesty you would get better service and value for money in a local Wetherspoon's. I would never come again!”

  “As someone who is new to the area, so glad to have come here for my Easter Sunday Roast. It's a lovely pub by the canal, with a huge patio garden (and gazebo to shelter from the weather) and lovely cosy interior (with a couple fireplaces too). It's a St Austell pub, some reviews I've seen aren't pleased at this, but it's perfect for me especially if you want try some of the local beers and ales brewed in the west. I have to say I was hoping for a larger selection of ciders though with only Thatchers Gold on tap (like perhaps Thatcher's Cloudy Lemon or even Rattler?!). I had a couple of Korevs which were spot on in the sunshine! Now the food, I had the Beef Roast and it was better than I anticipated. A nice and surprisingly tender beef strip with veg, cauli cheese, gravy and Yorkie that were just perfect. It was certainly not the worst roast I've had but was just perfect, really well balanced not too greasy, not too light. Absolutely top notch from a cosy pub. The service too was brilliant. The bar staff very friendly and helpful, and the waitress serving me was very accommodating and not over bearing (considering a table of 1) and located me on a smaller table that was right for me. For those wondering the price, pint of Korev £6.50 and roast around £18-£22. About right considering the location, quality of pint and the current climate! I'm definitely going to be returning. The pizzas and small bites look amazing and I can't wait to try! Thank you to the staff at The Locksbrook for my great visit.”

  “Cosy pub by the river - nice fireplaces in the winter, good outdoors in the summer. Beers are good - it’s a St Austell pub so nothing too out there, but as far as big brewery pubs go, they’re definitely a preference. Sports are also shown, but not dominant, so easy to opt in/out of. Food is more worth mentioning - consistently good, and the main menu and specials are worth checking out. I’ve been a few times - had the special Mahon pizza tonight, which was excellent, nice balance of meaty, spicy, sweet, and fresh.”
