About Elephant And Castle Amersham
Elephant And Castle Amersham is a pub on High St in Amersham, set in a refurbished 17th-century building. The kitchen serves a Chinese menu alongside the pub menu, and the Chinese dishes carry English descriptions. Singapore noodles and fish and chips both appear on the menu, and Sunday roast is served too. A fusion menu adds vegetarian and gluten free options. The pub is small, with a fire in the dining area and live music on the programme. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often point to the new Chinese menu, with Singapore noodles called a highlight for their chilli kick, alongside a fusion menu with good vegetarian and gluten free options. Sunday roast splits opinion: one calls it delicious, another found frozen Yorkshire puddings, rock-hard duck and woody chips. Service is friendly, though one calls it disjointed and slow. Diners mention generous portions by the fire.

“Had Sunday lunch by the fire. Lovely atmosphere and generous portions.”

“Staff were nice enough. Kids happy with their fish and chips. However the food was otherwise awful, especially for Sunday roast. Yorkshire puddings are store bought / frozen, duck as hard as a rock, everything drowned in gravy. Chips woody and stale. Will give it a miss next time.”

“We had a wonderful time catching up with friends at Autumn. 🍂 The waitress recommended the Chinese menu, although some of the dishes were a little difficult for us to make sense of, even with the English descriptions. My friend opted for the Singapore noodles, which turned out to be a real highlight — beautifully stir-fried rice vermicelli with a generous kick of chilli. 🌶️🌶️🌶️ Absolutely delicious and perfectly balanced. I went for the classic beef burger and chips. Nothing particularly adventurous, but it was well prepared and satisfying. We also shared some chicken wings and pork ribs. The ribs were a particular favourite of mine — so much so that we ended up ordering a few beers to accompany them. A perfect pairing! 🍺 All in all, it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience, with a welcoming atmosphere and a lovely setting. A great spot for good food, drinks and quality time with friends. Definitely worth a visit!”
