About Da Vinci Italian Restaurant
Da Vinci Italian Restaurant serves a Tuscan-focused menu in Aberdeen, from a back wynd at 1 Alford Ln, slightly off the main strip. Italian chefs run the kitchen, and the cooking works from Italian recipes. Vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free choices appear across the menu, so mixed dietary needs can share one table. Pizzas come from a wood-fired oven, including a thin-crust Margherita. Pasta includes mushroom tagliatelle with truffle oil, and tiramisu sits among the classic Italian desserts. Bruschetta and arancini are on offer as starters. The drinks list covers wine and two grappas. The restaurant opens evenings only.

Customer Review Summary
Wood-fired pizza is the most frequent draw, with reviewers praising the Margherita's thin crust, fresh tomato and mozzarella, and a crust described as divine that can feed two. Pasta comes close behind, including a mushroom tagliatelle with truffle oil and a pasta dish described as full of flavor. The tiramisu, air dried beef with parmesan, and a wine list called extensive for the size also get mentions. Reviewers describe the service as friendly and welcoming and the setting as rustic, romantic and quaint. Complaints center on value, noise and pacing. Several found portions small for the price, citing a bruschetta with three tiny pieces of bread, a Caprina pizza with barely any sausage, caramelised onion or goat cheese, and a salty Nduja ravioli. Multiple reviewers say the loud door bell and phone break up the atmosphere, and one reports hearing the owner swear repeatedly while seated. Another notes dishes arriving at very different times, with some at the table finishing before others had started.

“Had heard mixed reviews but wanted to try it. The entrance has a deafening bell that goes off every time someone goes in or out and it does not seem necessary, it is not a big place nobody is going to get lost going from the door to the restaurant. We were sat at a nice table and given a nice greeting by the young girl waitressing. However once we began to look through the menu all we could hear was the (owner I believe) dropping F bombs every two seconds. I am not anorude and swear like a sailor myself but it was a bit jarring to hear when you are sat down in what is supposed to be a nice restaurant. The food was fine, bruschetta was delicious and the Arincini balls were good. The main for the Nduja Ravioli was a bit lack lustre. Very salty and a small portion for the price. It started to get busier which was greta as all we heard the whole meal was the door bell like convenience store. I noticed another review mentioned this 3 years ago so glad to see it has been addressed... *EDIT TO MY REVIEW AFTER REPLY* THE PERSON WAS MOST CERTAINLY THE OWNER. AS THE WAITRESS POINTED AT YOU AND SAID SO. WE WERE THE ONLY PEOPLE IM THE RESTAURANT AT THE TIME (5PM) AND THE OWNER SAID GOODBYE TO US WHEN WE LEFT. THE SAME PERSON WHO WAS SWEARING THE WHOLE TIME. (Until am older couple arrived, when the person the owner was talking to left)”

“Visited on a Saturday night. The food was very nice. Lost a star as the food came at very different times, some of us finished before others started. Would visit again.”

“Da Vinci is a great restaurant. It has a lot of choices, including dishes suitable for vegans. We were a party of 6 and were mostly happy with our dinner for my daughter birthday. So it might be mean of me giving it 4 stars. While I enjoyed the food, I expected maybe something better. There was a certain "je ne sais quoi" missing. The dessert, "bonet", didn't quite hit the spot. However, I'd love to return and try different dishes.”

“Unfortunately we didn’t enjoy this location very much. Despite only having us and one more table, the food took very long. Over 30 minutes for 2 pizzas and a starter. The portions were very small for the price. The bruschetta had 3 tiny pieces of bread and needed salt (or some sort of flavour) it was nothing special. I’ve added a photo to the Caprina pizza. It took 30 minutes for that?! Where is the sausage? Where is the caramelised onion and goat cheese? There’s barely anything on this pizza. £18 for this? We’ve had better at dominos. The waitress was polite and the atmosphere was cozy but that’s where the positives end.”

“This is an authentic Italian restaurant, but almost all our dishes are Tuscan, with Italian chefs and original Italian recipes showcasing only the freshest ingredients and our love for tasty and healthy food. Our menu includes many vegan, gluten free, dairy free and a lot of passion for good food. In addition we are proud to serve an authentic Italian wood-fired Pizza prepared with high quality ingredients.”
