About Foodstory
Foodstory is a vegan and vegetarian restaurant, cafe and bakery at 11-15 Thistle St in Aberdeen. The kitchen makes everything from scratch in store each day. Its homemade salads come in a wide range, and most can be ordered half and half. The menu is vegetarian, with vegan and gluten free options, and includes a mango chutney grilled cheese. On the bakery side, the cinnamon buns are vegan and served warm. Tea arrives as a pot. Orders are placed at the counter, and a lunch menu runs alongside the bakery items. The food is halal, and dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Coffee draws the most praise, with reviewers calling the coffee drinks excellent and one singling out a cappuccino and a pot of tea. Close behind are the baked goods, especially a warm cinnamon bun, along with a gluten free chocolate slice and chocolate chip banana bread. The vegetarian and vegan kitchen earns mentions for a mango chutney grilled cheese, a pesto toastie, a Mediterranean focaccia described as crunchy outside and soft inside, a kale salad, and cherry tomato soup with sourdough. A turmeric latte and a strawberry iced matcha with oat milk also get specific credit. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly and chatty. The one clearly negative reviewer was refused a breakfast order despite arriving before 1:30 and found the place overpriced, while others did not raise cost or menu limits. Another reviewer notes that the staff always say hello to their dog, who is always welcome.

“My first experience was on the 6th September. The place was easy to find. A beautiful building to enter. I went in and found my seat first. I went up to the till and got a lunch menu, great selection. The first table I went to was dirty so I went to a different table that was clean. I told a woman about the table, nicely. She happily said that she will see to it. I found the staff very friendly people and easy to approach and they certainly serve with a smile. I ordered Homemade Cherry Tomato Soup which was absolutely delicious with there Sourdough bread which was very tasty. Which they gave to me as walked to the table with my soup but before I did that, I also ordered Tumeric Latte which I've never had anywhere before. They came over with my latte which made me happy as they delivered the personal touch. Which was absolutely delicious. I spoke to the till server, she was lovely, a nice smile. Which made my day. I told her that I will definitely be back using this location to host a meet-up with the friendship group I'm in. Going to the Foodstory Cafe was the best decision that I made. Thank you for your wonderful service. 😀”
