About The Farish House

The Farish House is a Mediterranean and French restaurant set in a redbrick cottage in Phoenix, with a patio and a bar on the grounds. The menu spans a broad range of price points, from two dollars to one hundred and fifty dollars, and covers one hundred and twelve dishes across that spectrum. The Stew and the Pork Chop anchor the mains, while the Farish House Tiramisu serves as the signature dessert. The cottage format gives the dining room a defined sense of place, and the bar and patio extend the experience beyond the main seating area. Reservations are advised for the main dining room, especially on evenings when the patio is in demand.

Customer Review Summary

Diners consistently highlight the tiramisu as a standout, with one reviewer calling it among the best they have had and another praising the blueberry twist on top. The bread pudding also earns enthusiastic praise, described as rich, comforting, and unforgettable. The filet mignon and pork chop are frequently singled out as flavorful and well prepared, and the cherry duck with parsnips and asparagus draws praise for its balanced flavors. Service is a recurring strength, with reviewers describing the staff as courteous, knowledgeable, and attentive, and several noting that the service is a reason to return. The setting in a historic house is repeatedly mentioned as charming, intimate, and unique, with a beautiful outdoor area adding to the appeal. A few reviewers note that some dishes could use better balance, one finding a filet sauce too sweet and lacking acid, another wishing the date appetizer had more salt or citrus, and a third wanting more cheese on the carrot salad. One reviewer reports frustration after arriving to find a risotto they had researched was no longer on the menu, despite having checked the online menu beforehand.

We took my mom to afternoon tea on Saturday for an early Mothers Day surprise and we had a wonderful experience! The service was fantastic, all of the food options for the afternoon tea were fun and delicious and we really enjoyed being able to all select our own tea flavors. We are HUGE tea drinkers, hot and cold so this was right up our alley. My mom loved it and definitely wants to go again! Thank you for the excellent service!

Wow was this a great meal and experience. Our server, Nicole, could not have possibly been better -- she was fun & funny, told us the history of the restaurant and made sure we ordered the right amount of food and the best items on the menu. The food was lovely and well prepared. We had 4 small plates instead of entrees and it was a great experience all around!

You come for the food, but you come back because of the service. Very courteous and knowledgeable staff, very attentive manager, and great chef. The food was delicious, the environment inside is cozy, and the seating is great inside and outside. We ordered the filet mignon (flavorful, the potatoes had a great texture), tomato soup (as app), pork chop, Raclette (a mix of fingerlings, cheese, salami and bread), Le Mac (Mac n cheese), tiramisu, and the caramel pecan pudding. Everything was delicious, we had a great time, and felt everything was priced accordingly to the level of service they provide. I will definitely recommend them.

The new owner Greg is an absolute stud, he loves this place as much as we do. The gin drinks are out of this world, and the fillet was spectacular. My wife has the bouillabaisse, insanely good. We have had the short ribs, and try the patte …

Brought my boyfriend here for Valentine’s Day. Love the atmosphere. Very intimate, and being in a historic house is always neat. …
