The restaurant is family-owned and operated, and you can really feel that warmth from the moment you walk in. The interior is absolutely beautiful, making it a great place to sit and enjoy a meal. We ordered the tostones, plantains, and the pork bowl — everything was incredibly delicious and full of authentic flavor. You can tell the dishes are made with care and tradition. Can’t wait to come back!”

  “None of us are usually that excited about Mexican food places anymore BUT - this one is amazing. And yes, they call it Southern American cuisine, not Mexican. But because the entire menu (at first glance) consists of the usual words we associate with Mexican food places (tacos, asada, etc), I'll still refer to it as a Mexican food place for simplicity sake. We went there after visiting the AZ Science Center, and it was between Pizzeria Bianco and this place. Bianco was too busy and frankly has gotten a little stale and expensive over the years so we tried Que Sazon across from it. Super cute old style house, nice garden with misters, hand written menu boards - at first impressions, this place is cozy and has a nice overall relaxed vibe. We seated ourselves outside, while a bit warm, the misters and the shade provided by the numerous trees helped a lot. The menu is fairly short and much of that is taken by the real profit drivers for a restaurant+ alcoholic drinks and wine, so choosing something to eat was pretty fast. We ordered the 3 Spicy Pork tacos, the Chicken Asada rice bowl, and I ordered just the chicken and veg part from the fajita listing, because Keto (ugh). Food arrives and immediately everything looks different - far more appealing and colorful - than expected. Usually the 4 trillion Mexican food places here are largely the same. Not this one. Despite the boring menu item names, each one had several culinary twists that made them far more interesting than the usual stuff. Not to spoil the surprise but imagine shaved fried banana with 4 different types of fantastic sauces (idk what they are but they are amazing) together with beautifully marinated chicken and fresh black beans and perfectly cooked rice. Savory and sweet and the occasional perfect lightly tart accent, blended perfectly together im a way none of us had ever experienced at Mexican (-ish?) place. Even my simple chicken and veg was amazing, just so different and flavorful, complex yet complimentary. The marinade...OMG! It was ridiculous how good something silly simple like this can be. I could only taste a few mouthfuls from everyone else , but ALL OF IT was so good that I was about to abandon my diet for this food. Probably should have, tbh 🤣 Everything was so incredible that we're considering taking that 40 minute drive there once a week or so - and we have at least 20 or more Mexican restaurants in a 5 mile radius where we live. We just couldn't be bothered with Mexican food anymore, until today. Service was a little slow, seating was a bit limited and tight considering that this location is a people magnet (lots of museums , courts, etc). But all is acceptable because the food is just so good. Price was OK, $17 for the Chicken rice bowl, something similar for the 3 tacos. That's a bit much given the rather small portions - but even THAT just didn't bother us because of the superior and unique taste and mouthfeel of everything. Payment is done at the table via the waiter's mobile card reader. Personally I hate it when restaurants do this, it's weird and tacky. Waiter also has the default tip set to a high percentage which frankly wasn't warranted given the slowness, and lack of attention. But it's weird to tap through a bunch of options to change it to something more reasonable in front of everyone, especially when the screen is hard to see in the sunlight. They know this and that's why they do it. Unfortunately many or most places now do this - and that's always a minus 1 star in my book, no matter how good the food is. Highly recommended if you're looking for a new take on Mexican food. Fusion food lovers and those with adaptive pallates will dig it.”

  “What an incredible restaurant and experience! Outdoor reservations are a must. We came on a Friday night and they had live music. To me, the restaurant felt like I just stopped in from the streets of Havana. Beautiful greenery and friendly staff with fantastic (loud) music. The drinks were great especially their different mojitos. As for food the empanadas were fantastic though a bit pricey. Their rice bowls and steak tacos were good too! I would definitely come back for drinks and vibes!”

  “Went to Que Sazón Ceviche Bar in downtown Phoenix on a Friday around 2:30 p.m. We were seated immediately and the food came surprisingly fast. What a great little spot. It was my first time there — I had never heard about it or read anything about it. We just walked in because there was no wait, and it turned out to be a really good surprise. The waitress was amazing and very attentive. I went with my two boys and we ordered a lot of different things: empanadas, tacos, chicken tenders, and more. Everything was delicious. We even brought some food home for my wife to try. Overall, a really great experience. I’ll definitely be back.”
