About The Vig

The Vig is a Southwestern-inflected pub in Phoenix at 606 N 4th Ave, pairing pub grub with cocktails and regular live music. Much of its character comes from the way the kitchen reworks familiar bar fare through a regional lens, turning a standard tavern lineup into something distinctly local. The Vig Nachos anchor the menu as a signature plate, while Chicken Wings round out the savory side and Butterscotch Bread Pudding offers a sweet finish. The format leans into its dual identity as a restaurant and a cocktail bar, with the live music schedule giving the room a steady rhythm on a regular basis.

Customer Review Summary

The Vig draws consistent praise for its atmosphere and well-executed pub fare, with the burgers and fries singled out as some of the best in Phoenix. Diners frequently highlight the patio as a standout setting, describing a cozy, low-lit space that feels removed from the city. Specific dishes earning repeat mentions include the truffle fries, roasted pork tacos, mac and cheese, and the butterscotch bread pudding, while the spicy chicken sandwich and steak salad also receive strong marks. Service is often described as friendly and attentive, with several guests noting staff who offered thoughtful recommendations. However, a recurring thread of inconsistency runs through the reviews: one diner found the pozole severely underfilled and the meat tough, another called the truffle fries oversalted and the steak for steak and eggs insanely dry, and a third reported a brunch where the waitress never cleared plates or checked in, leaving soggy fries and an unseasoned Bloody Mary. Parking is also noted as somewhat difficult to find.

Went to The Vig and overall it was a decent experience, but not perfect. The atmosphere is definitely the main draw. …

The Vig never disappoints! Hands down one of my favorite spots in Phoenix. The food is consistently great — the burgers and fries are some of the best in the city. The patio is perfect for an Arizona evening and the atmosphere is so laid …

Updating from 8 years ago, and things have gone from ok to below the bare minimum. Service was horrible. Our waitress (heart tattoo on the face) never brought out a single dish herself, nor did she clear a single plate. No one actually cleared any plates. Asking for a side of mustard was seemed like too much. No mention of specials. Never once came buy to see how we were doing. The restaurant was maybe at 40% and appeared the have a good number of staff so the idea of them being busy is not part of the equation. The only time she seemed to actually engage the table was when a joke was made about paying in pesos and she mentioned her upcoming summer trip to Cancun. Burgers were mehh. Fries were soggy. The truffle fries were over salted. The steak for the steak and eggs was insanely dry. Bloody Mary wasn't seasoned, just tomato juice and all the vodka was poured on top. It's like no one tried, like the staff was hung over and annoyed to have to show up to work Oh and the elderly stray cats coming through the dining area was definitely not helping the experience

We were meeting our friends across town for an early dinner & drinks. I booked the wrong Vig! They were so kind about it! I've been wanting to go for quite awhile. Super nice waiter (I think Mike) I didn't catch the gals name that was …

We made reservation via Open Table. We had an AZ Speakers Series event at 7, at AZ FinancialTheater, so we arrived at The Vig at 4:45. Awesome table on the patio. Server Steph was attentive & friendly! Really great vibe & food was delicious! Special Harvest Salad & salmon, with edamame starter. Draft beer & patio heater to take the chill away as the sun went down. We Will definitely be back!!
