About Turtle Bay Winchester

Turtle Bay Winchester is a Caribbean restaurant in Winchester, at Unit 2 - 4. The kitchen is built around a jerk pit, where ingredients marinate for 24 hours in a jerk rub and are then flame-grilled. Jerk chicken comes from that pit, and the Trini Coconut Prawn Curry gives the menu a curry alongside it. Vegan options are listed as well. A bottomless brunch is part of the offer, and the drinks list includes a Pineapple Rum cocktail. Games are available to play at the table, so a meal can double as a group activity. Car parking is a short walk away.

Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often single out the friendly, welcoming service, with servers and bar staff described as helpful, funny and attentive, and one reviewer noting a manager who also gave great service. The food draws close behind: the Sunday Sharer is called generous and good value, while jerk chicken with cheesy jerk fries, trini coconut prawn curry, spicy mutton, prawn curry, burger and plantain all get praise. Diners also mention the bottomless brunch, vegan options and a kids-go-free deal. The recurring complaint is drinks. One reviewer found the cocktails beautifully presented but short on punch, and another called the virgin colada a rip-off, two tiny glasses that were mainly pineapple juice. The same reviewer found the roti disappointing and not authentic, and asked for it to be changed. Several also describe the atmosphere as relaxed and lively, with games to play at the table. One quiet evening ended with the bar staff handing out free virgin piña colada shots for no particular reason.

“What a lovely experience! Greta welcomed my daughter and I and made us feel immediately at home. We were visiting Winchester from London for a short break and were pleasantly surprised to find a restaurant serving Caribbean food. Delicious food, chilled atmosphere and a choice of games to play which kept us entertained. Greta was so friendly and warm. Great customer service all round. We will return! Highly recommend. 2nd visit in a week and loved the experience. Zak was very helpful and served us with a smile. Very welcoming restaurant- Saturday was extra busy - great food and great customer service!”

“We visited Turtle Bay in Winchester on St Patrick’s Day 2026, and it turned out to be such a memorable experience. Although it was a quieter evening than expected, the atmosphere still felt warm and welcoming, largely thanks to the staff who brought so much energy despite it being calm. From the moment we arrived, the service really stood out. We were greeted by our server, Phil, who was absolutely fantastic. He had such a natural, authentic presence and brought a kind of theatrical charm to the whole experience—in the best possible way. It felt like he genuinely enjoyed what he was doing, which made us enjoy it even more. The bar staff were just as lovely. At one point, they surprised us with free virgin piña colada shots for no particular reason, which was such a thoughtful and unexpected gesture. It really added to the overall warmth of the place. All in all, it was a great experience from start to finish. The combination of great service, a positive atmosphere (even on a quiet night), and those little extra touches made it really special. We’ll definitely be returning.”
