Customer Review Summary

Diners most often single out the service, with reviewers repeatedly describing staff as attentive and kind, from a surprise extra dessert at breakfast to complimentary ice cream on a birthday. The food comes close behind: a ribeye steak on the bone, rump of lamb and truffle parmesan chips earn praise, while the Spring/Summer Heritage Menu salads are called fresh and beautifully presented. One lunch reviewer found the portions far more filling than expected, with generous starters making the side unnecessary, and cocktails were described as really well made. The decor draws words like gorgeous and elegant, and one reviewer mentions the wallpaper. Criticism is minor. One Sunday lunch guest found the gravy lacked body and was a little watery, though they called it a minor point on an otherwise lovely meal. One reviewer cited a two course lunch offer as great value. Several describe birthday or date night visits, and one mentions piano music playing in the toilets.

“We went on date night to the Ivy the 14th of Aug 2026 and we was not disappointed, this place lived up to the Ivy name. The service was amazing and attentive during our time from when we was shown our table to leaving after our meal. We did not wait long at all for our food or our drinks, the food was absoultly mind blowing!! The restaurant atmosphere is so nice espically with the lovely, elegant decor and vibrant yet 100% comfortable, you can tell everything has been thought out even the toliets play nice panio music in them lol. We will 100% be back again. Service 10/10, Food 10/10, Drinks 10/10 Staff 10/10. Food we had was Rump Lamb & a Ribeye Steak on the Bone, 2 portions of truffle paraseam Chips and a portion of green beans. Special shoutout to a member of staff who served us Rosie M, she was not only a rockstar to have serve you but good sense of humor and made sure we had everything we needed.”

“After a not-so-great experience on our last visit to Winchester, and being big fans of The Ivy, we decided to give it another try — and we’re so glad we did. We had an outstanding bank holiday meal with wonderful service from Amelie, who was extremely kind, helpful and attentive throughout. The Spring/Summer Heritage Menu has some really lovely light options that were perfect for a sunny day. The salads in particular were excellent — really fresh, tasty and beautifully presented. A completely different experience from last time, in all the best ways, and we very much hope to return again soon.”
