Customer Review Summary
Pizzas are the most repeated draw. One diner says her husband called his one of the nicest he had eaten, and another loves them and notes a usually decent value special. Close behind, reviewers praise a mixed fish grill, curries served quickly, chicken pate with toasted ciabatta and onion chutney, and a light lemon Bakewell. Well-kept pints and friendly staff also get credit. Food verdicts split, though. Others report chewy chicken and steak strips in the cock and bull, very greasy battered fish with tinned mushy peas, and no burgers because the kitchen ran out of mince. One describes a very long wait for food. Several call the place run down, citing cobwebbed sanitiser stands, disused cars filling the rear car park, a sticky table, and no toilet roll in the gents. Service is described as variable because of high staff turnover, with items missed from orders, and one reviewer was disappointed by the cask ales. In one account, black burned chips were sent back and replaced.

“No burgers, what? They ran out of mince, it was Sunday afternoon. This place is proper run down, it's a shame, would not take much to sort out. Start by removing the COVID sanitary stands outside(covered in cobwebs), it's 2026. But on top of that, it took over an hour for our food to arive after ordering. And it wasn't that great, passible, only just. There is a car park outside back, with 10 spaces permanently taken with disused cars, looks like they have been bought to repair. There was a space available for me, but for everyone else I was with, they had to park on the main road out front( is this a pub or a garage). Final insult, no bog roll in the gents.”

“Went tonight for a birthday tea, menu has changed which was disappointing so ordered chips and fish with mint mushy peas. After the rude bar staff took our order we sat at a sticky table. The food came out with black burned chips, sent them back to be replaced which they did, the peas where bog standard tinned peas and the fish and I use that word lightly was just batter and very greasy Will not return and don’t waste your money on expensive muck !!!!”

“Staff were friendly and helpful. All three of us had a curry which was served very quickly and the food was excellent. The food with two drinks each cost £60 i.e. £20 each.”

“Everything was lovely but the food. I had orders the cock and bull. Some of the chicken and steak strips were really chewy. The sauce was quite thin and very peppery. The chips were frozen that tasted like they had been refried (just my opinion, not fact). The whole thing had taken around 10-15 mins to cook from the time I ordered to when I sat down. I wasn't impressed, especially for the price.”
