About Fishergate Inn
Fishergate Inn is a pub in Wigan at 52 Orrell Rd, known locally as "the fish" and run by a landlord and landlady as a community local. Bingo and karaoke nights give groups of friends something to do together, and pool is played on site. Lots of TV screens inside show sports. The bar pours Guinness and San Miguel, with a selection of other beer, wine and spirits behind it. Dogs are welcome, so regulars can bring their own company along.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers return most for the welcome from the landlord, landlady and staff, described repeatedly as friendly and welcoming, with several calling it a true local well used by the community. Beer comes next, with drinkers singling out a decent pint of Guinness, a really good San Miguel and well kept pints at a reasonable price. Entertainment sits close behind: bingo, karaoke, pool and sports on TV are all mentioned, and one reviewer says weekends are never short of entertainment. One reviewer notes that Wednesday and Thursday are the quiet nights and believes no food is served. Another calls it a regular stop off on a night out because of its closeness to restaurants and other bars. The flowers outside get a mention as a welcome bonus, and one first-time visitor was struck by the TV screens inside, some showing fishing.

“A lovely old fashioned pub made even better by the lovely welcoming staff, they really are the best. The beer is always spot on and at a good price. If you check it out on Facebook there's quite often something going on, bingo, Karaoke, sports on TV etc but quiet nights are Wednesday, Thursday. I don't believe food is served here. You should try this pub, there aren't many of this quality left.”

“A true local gem. This type of pub is rare these days, a true local that's well used by the community and very welcoming. Best pub in the area for warm hospitality and a decent pint of Guinness for an extremely reasonable price. Definitely coming back soon.”
