About Venture
Venture is a pub and restaurant on Billinge Road in Wigan that welcomes Brit Stop motorhomes and campers for overnight stays. Dogs are welcome inside, and the kitchen runs alongside the bar with a menu that leans into pub staples. A Greene King house, Venture plates up burgers built around a barbecue base, with onion rings served on the side, plus gammon, egg and chips, a mac and cheese plate with salad, and a separate line for kids. Live acts and events take over the main area, which fills up and gets loud on Saturday evenings. The team will rearrange seating to keep a party together, including moving guests with a baby out of the busier section of the room. Service is by walk-in.

Customer Review Summary
Most reviewers single out the food and service as the main draw, calling both great, excellent, and promptly served across multiple visits, with several naming it one of their favourite local pubs. Staff come in for consistent praise, described as great, polite, and accommodating, including one instance where the team rearranged seating so a family with a baby could stay comfortably past the live entertainment. Close behind, several mention good value and quick service for groups. The negative side, raised by a smaller cluster, centres on the kitchen: overcooked and dry signature BBQ burgers, gammon and egg served overdone, mac and cheese arriving lukewarm with far more salad than pasta, and waits stretching around 45 minutes for food that arrived barely warm. A few also describe the service in that same run as shocking and the staff as rude, with one diner saying they could not wait to leave. A couple of reviewers note the interior could do with updating and that Saturday evenings get loud, but say the visit was still worthwhile.

“Food was great we had a party of 8 including a little baby, everyone enjoyed tje food with no complaints. Will definitely be back again. The service was quick and polite. Made a mistake coming on a Saturday evening was sat in the main area, little bit loud, but our fault. Saturday evening in a pub! Massive thank you to the management team, they had a act on and postponed it a little because we had a baby with us then found us different seating after the food. Thank you so much guys..”
