  “Did not eat, just stopped on our Sunday walk for a hydration break. Staff was very accommodating and we sat in the outdoor area. Coffee was great (double espresso) to an Italian standard. Pet friendly too!”

  “First time we visited this place, and absolutely brilliant. The staff were wonderful, very friendly and helpful, and couldn't do enough for us. The food was amazing, cooked fresh, piping hot and well presented. All in all I highly recommend it. So in summary, great staff, fantastic food, reasonable prices and good atmospher.”

  “I previously left a poor review which I have tried to delete. The staff are wonderful, Knoledgeable and patiently helpful. We all had a good food experience in a country pub atmosphere. I had one of the nicest chicken pies I've ever eaten.”

  “Great food and great service. The 'main man' made us feel very welcome and picked up on the fact we were there for an 80th birthday celebration. The 80th birthday celebrant was treated to a pint of San Miguel and a super large chocolate brownie for the party of three to enjoy, presented with a sparkler / firework. A really great afternoon. Thank you.”

  “First time visiting after passing many times. Always seems busy. It's a large space, nicely decorated with good vibe and very friendly and attentive staff when we went. Food was excellent - fresh, hot, very good flavour, decent portion sizes and reasonable pricing. There is a good selection of beers and cocktails. Will definitely be going back”

  “Visited here during lunchtime. Pub was quite empty and we were welcomed upon arrival. We ordered our food and our starters came very quickly afterwards, my halloumi fries were bland and a tiny portion and my wife’s croquettes were cold inside. She had cut the three open to check them all and sent them back. We were advised fresh ones would be made. Two minutes later the same croquettes returned collapsed and hot. It looked like they had been turned over to hide the cut sides and had been microwaved. They were mushy and very disappointing. After ordering my main I was told later on it was now not available. Our mains arrived and were fine but nothing special, especially for the price. Had been looking forward to visiting after hearing good things but left feeling quite disappointed.”

  “Thank you so much for the beautiful celebration you enabled us to have, following the funeral of our beloved Keith Daniel Preston, on Monday 5th January, 2026. The food was delicious, beautifully presented and your staff were an absolute credit to you. A difficult day was made a little easier to bear because of the fantastic way you looked after us all. We can’t recommend you highly enough, and we will be forever grateful for the respect and dignity you showed us all. Thank you all.”

  “Piping hot food, helpful and welcoming stuff, lovely atmosphere and the food was amazing! Whoever does the cooking, job well done! First time visit through a recommendation and we will be back again! It's great to finally find food that is so hot you can take your time without rushing, no one likes warm food. Brings back memories of rural one of a kind pubs.”
