Customer Review Summary
The mixed grill is the dish reviewers return to most, described as very filling, with one advising against a starter because the grill will fill you. Close behind are the home made chicken curry and lasagne, with meat and vegetarian versions both enjoyed, plus a large Sunday dinner with a range of meats. Several mention vegetarian options, hot food and portions they call huge. Staff draw steady praise as friendly, welcoming and polite, and one reviewer says an issue was sorted very quickly. Reviewers also like the quiet, non rowdy feel, fair prices and ample parking, and a few mention it is handy for a pint while waiting for the train. One reviewer regrets that real ales are no longer served. The one negative comes from a diner who ordered cajun strips with creamy cajun sauce and received a tomato sauce instead, and who says the chef pointed to the cajun spices when it was raised. One pair finished with hot chocolates topped with marshmallows, whipped cream and a mint candy cane, and the kitchen stayed open past its usual closing time for them.

“I met up with my friend on Tues Oct 7th for a catch up over a pub tea and it was delicious. The kitchen stayed open past its preferred closing time for us and served us up a gorgeous hime made chicken curry and lasagne. The portions were huge! Now I have a very healthy appetite and so does my friend and neither of us had room for desert. We did however round the meal off with a hot chocolate each. They were just fabulous! There was a bit of everything included. A mint candy cane, marshmallows, a mountain of whipped cream with a dusting of chocolate. Id go back just for a hot choc it was that good. We both had excellent service from Lewis. He was really friendly and attentive and I think he made the hot chocs too. Overall we had a really lovely, tasty and good value meal. Thanks again Lewis for being so good at your job.”
