Quick info
About Pablo Eggsgobao
Pablo Eggsgobao is a breakfast restaurant at 12 Station Rd in Whitley Bay, run from a small kiosk-style spot near the Metro station, with the sea a short way down the road. The limited menu centres on a bao bun filled with sausage patty, egg, hash brown, cheese and hot sauce, a take on the traditional breakfast butty or McMuffin. The sauce can be left off, and hash browns are also ordered separately as a side. Veggie options sit alongside the bao, and the coffee list covers lattes and flat whites, with alternative milk available. Orders are made quickly once placed, and a queue can form in the street at busy times. Service is walk-in, and dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
The breakfast bao is the draw, a traditional butty filling of sausage patty, egg, hash brown and cheese wrapped in a bun with hot sauce. Reviewers describe a soft but fairly dense bun and a mix of savory, sweet and spicy, and one calls it a quirky take on a McMuffin. Coffee comes close behind, with the flat white and latte singled out and one reviewer appreciating the alternative milk. Staff are called friendly and chipper. The trade-offs are practical. The menu is small, there is no seating, and a queue regularly forms, with several people waiting on the street by the kitchen, though one reviewer had their order within minutes. One parent's three boys skipped the sauce and still loved it. Several order the hash browns separately and call them addictive, and some carry their baos down the road to eat by the sea.

“A quirky and different take on a McMuffin. Loved it. A bao wrapped around sausage patty egg and crispy hash browns with hot sauce. Very good coffee a winning formula, expect to see them everywhere one day. Great staff, friendly and get on with it.”

“Slight queue for this culinary delight !! It is unique brunch option and although slightly limited menu, which is not a problem, and you get love in a box!! Taste sensation and a popular choice for many people to eat it just down the road by the sea !!”

“Since we were in the area, we made a point of visiting based on the reviews. Apart from the awesome name they do fast food really well. The menu is relatively small but appealing. There was a small queue when we arrived but they were waiting for orders. Despite this, we were able to place our order straight away and waited less than 5 minutes to pick up our order. I don't care much for bao buns but the overall taste and texture was great; just the right amount of sauce and spice.”

“This is my absolute favourite spot. The coffee is unreal — easily the best I’ve ever had — and I keep going back for it. All the staff are always so nice and welcoming. Special thanks to Lilly’s who's smile just makes the whole experience even better. Always such a warm and welcoming vibe. Thank you for the great service guys🙏”
