Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often single out the gardens and grounds, describing the well, the stream and the spring as beautiful, stunning and relaxing, with the setting drawing return visits. Food comes close behind: the High Tea earns the strongest praise, with one reviewer calling it the best they have had, while others name the Sunday Roast, brunch, the Lord Nelson and a cheese and chive scone with cream cheese, smoked salmon and chutney. Homemade cakes get a mention too. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and accommodating, with one vegetarian diner noting how well they were looked after, tea refills were offered, and a table was moved indoors on request on Easter Day. The caveats are small. One reviewer says the place gets very busy, another found the tea room a bit tired, and a third was bothered by two tables close by smoking. A few mention that it hosts weddings and parties, and one reviewer's family kept coming back so often they coined the word "foodstorking" for their visits.

“Absolutely incredible! My family and I have been here a couple of times now and each time is as good as the last. The service is amazing, the staff are so friendly and accommodating. The food is incredible, it’s evident how much thought goes into the presentation of the food as well as the flavours in each item. They honestly make the best high tea that I have ever had. The atmosphere of the place itself is wonderful and the scenery surrounding it is wonderfully kept too. Our server Benjamin was so kind and friendly, it really brightened up our whole experience! Once again, I couldn’t recommend this establishment enough!”

“Second time eating here on our annual family holiday. Both times the place was full but managed to accommodate 6 of us and a dog in the cosy marquee outside. Excellent customer service and the food is outstanding! Incredibly happy that the Lord Nelson was still on the menu. Cheese and chive scone with cream cheese, smoked salmon, chutney and a cup of tea, divine! The garden is a hidden gem and is surprisingly big. Need to come back and experience a meal and a drink in the sunshine next to the stream.”
