About Thyme Out Cafe
On Great George St in Weymouth, Thyme Out Cafe is a daytime cafe a few minutes' walk from the car park and seafront. The menu covers a variety of breakfast foods, including Eggs Benedict and a traditional breakfast, and gluten free options are prepared separately to avoid cross contamination. Food is cooked fresh to order, so a longer wait can be expected. The entrance is step-free and wheelchair-accessible, making it workable for visitors with mobility needs, and high chairs are available for families with young children. There is no booking system, with tables taken on a walk-in basis. The cafe opens Monday to Saturday and stays closed on Sundays, with service running through the day only.

Customer Review Summary
Breakfast is what reviewers return for, with eggs Benedict and the traditional breakfast singled out, alongside plain bacon and eggs that one diner calls "greasy spoon" style without any avocado or smoked salmon. Food is described as hot, nicely cooked and delicious, and several note everything is cooked fresh to order. One gluten free diner was impressed by the variety, with dishes cooked separately to avoid cross contamination. Close behind is the staff, called friendly, welcoming and polite, with one mention of a great sense of humour and another of locals who invite visitors into the banter. Cleanliness and a relaxed atmosphere also come up. The recurring trade-off is the wait: several say food takes noticeably longer than elsewhere, though they put it down to cooking from scratch. One reviewer found prices ridiculously high for a basic cafe, with portions that did not justify the cost, while others call the same prices reasonable and good value. Some holidaymakers say they have come back for years, and one had breakfast here two days running.

“The food prices are ridiculously high for such a basic cafe. The quality and portion sizes don’t come close to justifying the cost. There are far better places offering much better value for money.”

“Just perfect. Breakfast absolutely the best for quality, price and service. Tried other meals and they are equally the best.”

“Eggs Benedict and a pot of tea for one. It wasn't busy and I don't know how long it was but I was just wondering where the Eggs Benedict was when it turned up. It was worth waiting for. Thyme Out Cafe is hidden away and unfortunately I didn't discover it until my last day in Weymouth! I'll be back on my next visit to Weymouth though. I'm back and having the traditional breakfast this time. The food was hot and nicely cooked. This cafe is just as good as I remember it. Staff were good, friendly and polite. I haven't tried every cafe in Weymouth, but I've tried and reviewed quite a few places along the south coast, Thyme Out Cafe is one of my favourites and is definitely my favourite in Weymouth. 👍🏻”

“The staff were very welcoming as were the locals. Immediately felt the warmth of the people of Weymouth. They will leave you to have quiet time or invite you to join in the banter! Food was great and value for money and the main feature was cleanliness! . Weymouth has lots of nice food outlets but if your taking a winter break to blow the cobwebs away then pop in there for a relaxing and happy atmosphere.within a few minutes walking from car park and seafront!”
