About Custom House Cafe
On Custom House Quay in Weymouth, Custom House Cafe serves breakfast and daytime dishes at the harbour's edge. The Custom House breakfast anchors the menu, a full English with sausages, bacon, grilled tomato, hash browns, beans, mushrooms, and toasted bloomer, alongside smashed avocado on toast with poached eggs. Gluten free options are available, and hot drinks run from cappuccino to iced coffee. Ordering is at the counter rather than table service. Outdoor seating looks out over the harbour, making it a spot for eating outside, and dogs are welcome inside as well. The step-free entrance suits visitors with mobility needs, and high chairs are on hand for families with young children. The cafe opens daily during the day only. It can get busy, so reservations are recommended.

Customer Review Summary
Breakfast is the clear draw here, with reviewers repeatedly praising the full English, smashed avocado on toast with poached eggs, and a Hot Turkey Baguette with frittata fries as standout orders. Coffee comes up almost as often, described as generous and well made, alongside mentions of a goats cheese pizza, a prawn sandwich on thick bloomer, and a brie and caramelised onion ciabatta for lunch. Several diners highlight quick service even when busy, friendly staff, and the harbour view from outdoor seating, with some noting the dog friendly policy as a plus. A gluten free visitor, however, found the prawns and side salad disappointing and was frustrated by the lack of GF chips or GF lager, while another diner objected to a fellow customer feeding and watering a dog directly on the table near shared cutlery, calling it unhygienic. One reviewer suggests booking ahead once it gets busy, and repeat visitors describe coming back the very next day to try another breakfast after their first.

“TheCoeliacBlogger: We googled gluten free food and the Custom House cafe came up. I have to say the food was disappointing, the prawns were want to be in Marie rose sauce, but wasn't and the prawns were tastless sadly and dry side salad. As a top 10% Google Gluen-free reviewer I felt this place having a fantastic location, was badly let down by the gluten free food, not even Gf chips were available or Gf Larger to go with the meal. We won't be returning sadly, and as a local we were disappointed. But, The Mac&Cheese was ok, great garlic bread with cheese.”

“We visited Custom House Cafe today during a day trip to Weymouth. The food was very good - we had a goats cheese pizza, and a brie and caramelised onion ciabatta, followed by tea and cake. Lots of choice for a small cafe, including plenty of veggie options. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Will definitely come here again next time we visit Weymouth.”

“What a find! Great food, reasonable prices, extra attentive and friendly staff who were working considerably hard as it was bank holiday. Can't fault it.”
