About Skymaster
Skymaster is a pub on Apollo Park in Warrington, with a carvery at the heart of the menu and a roast dinner served every day. Kids' carvery portions are offered for younger diners, and the carvery can be kept open for parties who want it. Away from the roasts, the menu lists a mixed grill, fish and chips and beef pie, and Hawkstone IPA is served at the bar. Orders are placed at the bar or through a QR code at the table. Customer Review Summary
The food draws the most complaints, and the gravy is the sticking point. One diner from Lancashire called it brown water, another found a roast dinner bland with a rock-hard sweet potato and a mint sauce that tasted of toothpaste. Others report a sirloin that was mostly fat, dry chips, a beef pie with pastry too tough to cut, and greasy fish and chips with undercooked fish, replaced with a bland block of fish and no apology.

“We had 3 carverys last night. Food was ok although my wife didnt like the beef but I'm from Lancashire and this was the worst gravy Ive experienced in a while. Brown water. To me this is the most important part of the meal. Shame but we still had a good time.”

“Place is decorated nice but in areas it needs a lick of paint on the walls near the seating. I ordered the Hawkstone IPA & Beef Pie. The pie was over cooked and I couldn’t even cut the pastry with my knife. Not a lot of meat in it either. Chips was nice. Way over priced.”

“Never been before and won't be going back got fish and chips food came quick when the waitress was putting my dinner on the table fat was swishing about all over my plate fish not fully cooked just full of grease. Took it straight back said they would replace it , when it came it was a cheap triangle block fish no taste to it just had a bit and left not one of them apologies for the bad service this place needs sorting out”

“Really lovely venue, nicely decorated and can tell a lot of work has gone into making everything look great. Service staff are great, they helped out with whatever we needed. Unfortunately, the food was terrible. I ordered a sirloin which was about 90% fat and seasoned poorly, and the leek and potato soup was bland and watery. I know some folks will rightly say well, yknow you get what you pay for, it's not a super high brow place but even the easy stuff like the chips were so dry it was like they'd been seasoned with sand. I'd definitely come back for a drink as genuinely it's a lovely gaff and the staff are great, it's just the food was woeful and I'd avoid ordering it again.”

“Came for a family meal, we made a reservation ahead of time and we were seated right away. All food arrived super fast and really yummy. They even made sure to keep the carvery open as they knew members of our party wanted to order it and brought extra gravy straight to our table All of the staff are so lovely and helpful. Kev, Herbie, David + Nikkie made our meal an amazing experience. Will definitely be returning!”
