About Wheatsheaf

On Walsall Rd. in Walsall, Wheatsheaf operates as a pub and restaurant with a menu spanning 104 dishes. The Steak and Ale Pie sits alongside other steak dishes as a recurring choice, and starters such as nachos and a platter sharer lead into mains like the chicken and rib combo, with waffle and chocolate caramel dessert to follow. Customer Review Summary

Steak, particularly the steak and ale pie with mash and peas, comes up repeatedly as a reliable order, alongside the chicken and rib combo with waffle and gooey chocolate caramel dessert, and a nachos and platter sharer with chicken wings singled out as delicious. Large group meals feature heavily, with several parties of 11 to 16 praising food that arrives hot and all together even on big bookings, and staff described consistently as attentive and friendly, going out of their way for families and children. Value is mentioned more than once, with steak called perfectly cooked for the price. Some visits include extras like bingo and live singers during group lunches. Tables can be hard to secure without booking given how busy it gets, though multiple reviewers note they still found seating on arrival. Regulars describe returning monthly, with one pair travelling 40 minutes each way for it.

We found the staff tonight very friendly and helpful. (As always) Nothing is too much trouble for them. Tammy served our meals, she was so lovely with our grandchildren. A great family meal out.

Popped in for a steak last night - perfectly cooked and presented, fantastic value for money. Had a few drinks and of course a pudding. Great service - as usual. We are always made to feel very welcome. It’s always very busy, but we managed to get a table without booking. Thanks Team Wheatsheaf - see you soon.

Wow , what can I say ?! First time here for both of us and we couldn’t fault it . The staff were all really lovely and attentive and the food was beautiful ! We were sat at table 17 , we both ordered chicken and rib combo and waffle with gooey chocolate caramel n dessert, portions were huge and every thing was delicious and served with a smile . Would definitely recommend !

How this listing is sourced

Where the data comes from
Name, address, hours, contact details, amenities, ratings and review counts come from the business's publicly available profile data — not from the owner and not from paid submissions.
How it stays current
Listings are re-checked in batches against their public profile, and anything reported as wrong is corrected at the source rather than patched on the page.
How it is ranked
Placement is never sold. Every business on the page is ordered and compared using the same public signals, so an owner cannot pay to move up.
