Customer Review Summary

The caveat is real and recurs around food timing and temperature. One diner waited a long time for food that arrived average and not very warm after reminding staff, another had a starter arrive late and a cold, dry turkey main, and a third reports a burnt burger with a stale bun. Two reviewers describe rude exchanges at the bar and over an allergy request, and one family found vegetarian options limited. One party booked ahead for a large group and was given a table that did not work for a grandmother in a wheelchair. A reviewer who asked for more gravy had it brought promptly.

“Honestly so sad to be writing this but I will never step foot in this place again. From the moment we stepped foot in the place we had nothing but problems. After pre booking a table as there was a large group and giving them a list of everyone’s meals and requirements before hand. We were given the worst table in existence which was not accessible for my grandmother who is in a wheelchair at all. We had issues getting her around the building and then she had to be on the end of the table next to the toilets for her meal. When they came to check our order I explained again my allergy requirements. It is not a common allergy as it’s a preservative in most sauces so I requested that no sauce be put on my burger as I can’t have mayonnaise. The staff member stated “well it must be egg” to which told her it was not. She then raised her voice multiple times and said “well it’s clearly egg”…. Again it’s not. I just told her to avoid sauce and sat down. She then told me I had no choice but to go through the allergy list with her (which I wouldn’t mind but she was rude and I was fed up) to which she couldn’t even find the ingredients list for the sauce and wouldn’t bring the bottle out to go through it with me either. Despite the treatment I sat and waited on food. It came out for us all (bar one persons order which we waited almost 20 minutes extra for) and everyone ate. My burger wasn’t nice in the slightest. It was burnt and the bun tasted old and stale. My other family members didn’t enjoy their meal either. We paid. Left and that was the end. Apart from the fact myself and my partner have felt extremely unwell since eating there and I’m now suffering the consequences of eating something that didn’t agree with me. I will never be going back there again. Some staff were lovely. Shame some had to ruin it for the rest. The only good thing was the drinks.”

“Yet another amazing meal when visiting The Longhorn. From the time we walk in we are made to feel welcome and comfortable. Dan is always helpful, friendly and accommodating. The food is fresh and tasty. Since moving to the area we are happy to have found a new 'local' with a great mix of people, good food and drinks in a nice, relaxing, comfortable atmosphere. See you soon guys, Carl and Maz x”

“Service at bar was ok and drinks nice but on the dear side. Ordered using QR code at table but didn’t expect 1.5 hour wait for food that was average and not very warm. This was after reminding the staff we were still waiting. No complaint with staff who were pleasant and apologetic but won’t be back for food any time soon.”

“Food here was nice (we had mains, kids meals and desserts) but unfortunately would not choose to eat here again due to unprofessionalism and rudeness of the staff. During our visit we experienced several difficulties when ordering at the bar, some were handled ok by staff members but one interaction with young woman with brown hair behind the bar left me sure I will never return here. I would strongly recommend this person needs basic customer service training rather than becoming argumentative with customers. If I had not been with family I would have left immediately and not eaten here at all.”
