About Stoodley Meadow Community Cafe
Stoodley Meadow Community Cafe sits beside a children's play park in Torquay, on Ilsham Rd, with a meadow nearby used for dog walking and the South West Coast Path passing just by, making it a stopping point for walkers. Orders are taken on a walk-in basis, with no booking. The daily special runs to a tuna mayo jacket potato, and the counter also turns out cakes and flapjacks that sometimes include a vegan option. Coffee and tea come with soya and other plant milks. Dogs are welcome, so walkers coming off the meadow can stay for breakfast or lunch, and outdoor seating gives them somewhere to eat in the open air. High chairs suit families with young children, while a step-free, wheelchair-accessible entrance helps visitors with mobility needs. The cafe opens Wednesday to Sunday during the daytime and closes on Mondays and Tuesdays. Customer toilets are on site, and free on-road parking sits nearby.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often point to the coffee, with a soya latte and a mocha singled out alongside plant milk being available, and several call the staff friendly. The Tuna Mayo Jacket Potato, the daily special, is described as fluffy and delicious by two diners, while others mention a vegan cranberry and oat flapjack, a sausage roll after a walk, and ice cream the children loved, including at a birthday party held in the nearby park. The setting beside the play park and meadow comes up repeatedly, along with clean toilets and a peaceful, dog-friendly outdoor feel. The complaints are specific. One reviewer found nothing on the menu for vegans apart from an occasional vegan cake, another says the cafe closes early when it is quiet, taking the only toilet with it, and one thought a can of Sprite was steep and advised bringing enough cash. Several mention free parking nearby, and one describes a free-flowing stop on the coast path with a hot drink and lunch.

“Lovely cafe by a children’s play park in Torquay. It’s always clean, food looks lovely and well presented. Coffees are great with plant milk available too. Toilets for customers are very handy and also always clean. The only downside side is there’s nothing on the menu for vegans, although sometimes they do a vegan cake. Would love to be able to try their food. Great for takeaway options when meeting friends and family at the park.”

“Great menu, lovely staff and fantastic location. Had my child’s birthday party in the park and had 20 very happy children have ice cream from this café. Keep up the good work. Would recommend this café to people of all ages.”
