Customer Review Summary
Diners most often single out the prix fixe menu, where the teriyaki cauliflower draws praise from vegetarian and vegan eaters and the fish and chips is called really good and fresh. Steak comes close behind, with one reviewer calling a 12oz steak perfectly cooked and another naming the sirloin. The smoked haddock rarebit, a pie, sea bream schnitzel, sticky toffee pudding and knickerbocker glory each get a mention too. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly and attentive, and one reviewer notes the music was quiet enough to talk over. Reviewers call the atmosphere lovely, with cosy corners, and one calls the pub exceptionally clean. The one recurring caution is parking, which two reviewers say is limited and requires registering the car at the bar. One diner with a sulphites allergy reports that staff took it seriously and even switched out the cutlery because of how it was dried.

“Lovely old pub. Fabulous food on the fairly priced prix fixe menu : creative dishes served attractively. Between us we tried 3 different starters and 3 different main courses including vegan food like the tasty teriyaki cauliflower. Friendly, helpful, sollicitous staff. We'll be back!”

“A great find. On a quiet Monday lunchtime, we enjoyed a delicious lunch and excellent service. The 'prix fixe' menu was perfect for us. Really good, fresh fish and chips - the best I'd had for a while. The vegetarian options, especially the cauliflower dish, were also much enjoyed. We're certainly planning to go back!”

“The six bells is officially my new favourite pub. Cam, who served me deserves a medal. Friendly, quick, and somehow made me feel like we’ve been mates for years. The food and drinks were incredible. Honestly 10/10, would come back just to see Cam. If you haven’t been here yet what are you playing at? I’m from Manchester and I can promise I’ll keep making the journey.”

“My wife and I had a lovely meal at the six bells. I had the pie and my wife the sea bream schnitzel. We then had a knickerbockerglory each for pudding. The staff were friendly and attentive. The music was quiet enough to allow us to talk during our meal”
