About Longwood Tamworth
Longwood Tamworth is a pub on Fazeley in Tamworth, with a beer garden and a kids play section outside for visitors with children. A conservatory with a view sits alongside a pool and darts area with a TV, so the pub has separate spaces for different groups. The bar pours cask ales, craft beers and ciders, with wine, cocktails and spirits behind it. The kitchen serves traditional British pub food and modern classics, including burgers and grills, and a feast menu features a turkey roast. The pub is under new management with a new head chef. Dogs are welcome.

What reviewers say
Reviewers most often mention sunday feast menu, roast turkey, fish and chips and conservatory seating.
Customer Review Summary
The roast turkey draws the most praise. One diner calls it tender and juicy and better than a carvery, and another enjoyed a turkey roast in the conservatory. Close behind is the Sunday feast menu, where a prawn cocktail starter and a Jaffa cake slice with ice cream stand out, and a full English breakfast also gets a mention. Reviewers repeatedly describe the staff as friendly and welcoming, and a few say food arrived sooner than the bar had estimated. One family notes the pool and darts area and the kids play section outside, and a table of 13 got quick service without pre-ordering. The criticism is pointed. One couple waited a long time in a quiet pub for fish and chips and a lasagne, describing the fish as overcooked like a beer mat and the lasagne as reheated. Another reviewer found the food overpriced and did not feel welcome in what seemed a locals pub. A third wanted fresher roast potatoes, longer-cooked broccoli, and a less tired carpet. One reviewer notes the chef came out to ask how the meal was and refresh drinks.

“Staff lovely, so welcoming. Treated ourselves to the Sunday feast menu for just £19, which is great value! I had prawn cocktail for starter which is the best I’ve ever tried. Roast turkey for main which tasted better than a carvery. Meat was tender and juicy. Veg spot on. For dessert had the Jaffa cake slice which was divine. Perfect balance between the sweetness of the slice and the calm of the ice cream. Overall fantastic, I highly recommend.”

“It felt like a locals pub and I didn’t feel that welcome when I walked in. The floors were sticky. Felt the food was overpriced for what you got.”

“My wife and I arrived at the venue to find it quiet with plenty of staff. We ordered food and drinks and sat down. We waited over half an hour for fish and chips and a lasagne! Bearing in mind that it was very quiet. The food was horrendous. The fish was so overcooked it was inedible! It was like trying to cut into a beer mat and the actual fish meat was non existent! The chips were not much better. What a terrible experience. My wife’s lasagne was terrible and clearly reheated in a microwave to the point of oblivion. I can’t believe that we waited so long to be served with this utter garbage. Disappointing to say the least. They offer you vouchers with 40% off, I presume to get people through the door and then serve that garbage!! I can honestly say that if they offered 100% discount I would never go back.”

“Attended The Longwood with some family, I was told at the Bar there would be 30-45 minute wait on food, which wad absolutely fine and appreciated the heads up on that. Food arrived earlier than expected, which was a bonus! Our meals went down a treat. Staff were helpful and friendly. The Chef came out for a quick drink refresh and as he passed us, he asked if everything was all okay for us which was lovely of him. Deserts were tasty too🍨 All round, lovely visit👌 Plenty of seating inside and out Pool and darts area with tv Kids play section outside Great drink variety too 🍸 Lovely little family orientated pub😊”

“The Longwood in Fazeley is a lovely local with a lush beer garden. And the unique pub atmosphere British boozers are famous for. Pop in for a swift pint and swap banter our friendly bar staff anytime. Everyone who comes in gets just what they fancy. We’ve got a huge drinks selection. Check out our range of cask ales, craft beers and ciders. Our wine list is well balanced, and we do a nice bottle of fizz. Add cocktails, spirits, party drinks, and tasty softies to the mix and you’ve got the mother of all bars. Over on the food menu you’ll find generous portions of traditional British pub food, and modern classics all served between 12 - 9 every single day of the week. You can’t beat our burgers, grills, chicken, and sharers for value. Grab...”
