About ROK Mumbles
ROK Mumbles is a modern British restaurant in Swansea with dining-room views of Bracelet Bay and its lighthouse. Large windows face the sea, and the indoor space includes a part open kitchen and bar. The British menu includes a fried chicken starter in katsu or buffalo style, and Chateaubriand steak is also on offer. Cocktails come from the bar, and a sommelier is on hand to help with wine. A Sunday set menu runs to two or three courses. The restaurant is open Thursday to Sunday and closed on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Customer Review Summary
Diners most often single out the chateaubriand, with reviewers describing it as cooked medium/rare and tender enough to cut with a fork. Close behind are the sea and lighthouse views over Bracelet Bay, and service that several describe as warm and attentive, with the welcome at the door and the sommelier both singled out. Other dishes praised include the buffalo fried chicken, courgette flower, salmon starter, lamb, pork and a cod cooked to perfection, with cocktails called a high point. Reviewers who were less impressed describe the food as inconsistent. One says the turbot's nduja sauce was oily and masked the fish, and that the king prawns were overpowered by lime chutney. Another found a steak arriving medium instead of medium/rare. Bottled water pricing and a non-optional 12.5% service charge drew complaints, as did itemised bill prices that differed from the Sunday set menu. One anniversary couple, greeted with a card that turned out to be an advertisement, noted other restaurants had brought sparkling wine or a complimentary dessert.

“Beautiful view, lovely room with great service. A great menu, well put together and perfectly cooked. The building from the outside is very unassuming but expectations were exceeded. The cocktails were a particular high point and the sommelier was really really lovely and clearly incredibly passionate about his work.”

“Absolutely incredible dining experience at Rok! The food was divine. I highly recommend the courgette flower and the salmon starter, both were outstanding as well as the Lamb and Pork for our mains. The service was impeccable, and a special thank you to Debbie and Kieran for making the evening so special with their warm, attentive hospitality. We haven’t had a dining experience like that in a long time. To top it all off, the view is absolutely breathtaking. We can’t wait to return! Thank you x”

The food was cooked to perfection, it was one of the best experiences for myself and my partner. We will be returning customers after the service was so good and the food was so faultless. “Beautiful location. Beautiful venu. Beautiful Food. Booked as Celebrating our 43rd Wedding Anniversary. This was asked when booking. Was greeted with a card & waiter wishing us a Happy Anniversary. Ordered Tap water, as bottled water is overpriced, but that is everywhere. The wine was a lovely Italian Pinot Grigio. My Husband steak was ordered as Medium/rare, & was Medium when arrived. My Cod was cooked to perfection. Sides were Chips & New potatoes also tasty. Strawberry Pavlovas for dessert. Nice. So overall the evening was lovely, all staff are trained well, very polite. Only one disappointment was, when booking & when we arrived, we were greeted with Happy Anniversary to you both. Many places we have eaten when celebrating special occasions, & this was the only place with no gesture, we have had sparkling wines brought to the table & even a complimentary dessert! They brought a card to the table, an advertising card. We would return, but maybe the restaurant could take this onboard. Small gestures, make happy memories of Big Occasions x”

“What a recommendation this was. Arrived to a very warm welcome from Debbie. Seated with a wonderful view of the sea and the lighthouse. Service from Kieran was faultless. Every member of staff who spoke to us could not be faulted. The food exceptional. Parsons with a twist, fried chicken with buffalo and real treat. Then we had the king of dishes chateaubriand. Steak cooked to perfection that melts in your mouth. Desserts exceptional. If in mumbles this is a must go to place. It has it all in spades. Thanks for an amazing experience”
