About Bay View
Bay View is a Thai restaurant and bar on Oystermouth Rd in Swansea, with a dining room that looks out over Mumbles Lighthouse. The kitchen sends out green curry and chicken Penang curry with rice as regular orders, alongside chicken satay sticks to start. The bar pours Corona on tap alongside a selection of ales and world and continental lagers. A step-free entrance suits visitors with mobility needs, and the room welcomes dogs and has high chairs for families with young children. It opens Tuesday to Sunday and stays closed on Mondays, with reservations recommended for the dining room. Beyond table service, the kitchen also prepares food to take away for those eating off site. The pub-style setting brings together the bar and the Thai kitchen under one roof, with the lighthouse view forming the backdrop to the dining room.

Customer Review Summary
The green curry and the £7.95 lunch deal of starter and main draw the most praise, with reviewers repeatedly calling the food hot, tasty, and good value, and several singling out the chicken Penang curry and the three-starters-for-a-tenner offer. Close behind is the atmosphere itself, with diners noting the views, the friendly staff, and one wedding party crediting the manager and team for accommodating a full Thai sit-down meal and evening buffet of satay and spring rolls. Also mentioned favorably is the Corona on tap and a wide beer and lager selection. Recurring complaints center on inconsistent kitchen quality: some call the noodles dry and clumped or the food bland and "supermarket" standard, one describes a takeaway as dry and tasteless with an unexpected £10 overcharge, and another reports being quoted an hour for takeaway while dine-in service took fifteen minutes. Wait times also surface repeatedly, with walk-ins on busy days facing long delays because tables are served in a first-come basis. Several reviewers who called ahead or booked describe smoother visits, including one party phoning their order in from the airport to have it ready on arrival.

“Excellent Thai food Shame about the choice of music. But lovely Thai curry, noodles and chips - with good bar service! And fair prices - Will return”

“Had take away from here today and I can honestly say it was the worst thai I've ever had. The food was so dry and tasteless and to add insult to injury after I had got home I realised i was charged £10.00 more than the food was actually worth. I definitely will not be going back here and definitely don't recommend it unless you enjoy dry, bland, tasteless food”

“Just can’t beat this place, there’s a reason we come back so often. We came straight from Bristol airport rung ahead as we thought we would miss the cut off time for last orders for lunch. The lady took our order on the phone and put it through when we were going to arrive. Such a lovely vibe, always great food and great staff!”

“Food is lovely and great value but service is terrible. Waited over 90min++ for food for a pre-booked weekday lunchtime this week, not the first time for a long wait. Not even an apology for awful service. Never again unfortunately.”
