About The Roadhouse Cafe
The Roadhouse Cafe is a cafe on The Roadhouse in Swansea, open Monday to Saturday during the day and closed Sundays. Orders are placed at the table with staff, and payment is taken when customers leave rather than up front. The menu runs to 60 dishes, with a full breakfast of bacon, sausages, hash brown, black pudding, fried eggs, beans and toast, alongside a veggie breakfast option and a roast beef dinner. Food can be eaten in or taken away. A step-free entrance suits visitors with mobility needs, high chairs are available for families with young children, and outdoor seating gives an option for eating outside. Customer Review Summary
Most reviewers come for the full breakfast, describing bacon, sausages, hash brown, black pudding, fried eggs and beans cooked fresh and served piping hot. One calls it the best value on the menu, and another singles out the mushrooms and a veggie breakfast. Close behind is the staff, repeatedly called friendly and welcoming, with reviewers also mentioning a roast beef dinner, decent coffee and a space they find very clean, toilets included. The complaints are specific. One reviewer says the sausages are the cheapest mechanically recovered meat and would pay more for a better one. Another says orders are not always accurate, though staff always sort it out. One reviewer left without trying the food, describing rude staff and feeling unwelcome. Several note the pay-later system, where diners settle up when leaving. One reviewer remembers a staff member bringing a bowl of chips for two daughters who wanted only a small breakfast.
