About THE FOUNDRY CAFE
The Foundry Cafe is a cafe at 5 High St in Swansea with a breakfast menu that pairs café staples with a southern fried chicken stack and tacos filled with chicken tikka or beef brisket. The Foundry Breakfast also comes in a veggie version, and hash browns appear as a topping or side on the breakfast and stack dishes. Menus are left at the table, and orders are placed and paid for at the front counter. The cafe also keeps a large selection of free condiments for diners to help themselves.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the crispy southern fried chicken stack and the southern chicken burger, with one diner praising the chicken as crispy and juicy at once and another picking out the hash brown topping. Close behind are the chicken tikka and beef brisket tacos, the Foundry Breakfast with its veggie version, and a tuna sandwich, all described as tasty. A caramel latte is called perfect, and one reviewer prefers the coffee to any other. Diners also mention friendly staff, a clean, comfortable layout, a huge salad portion, free condiments and good value. The main caveat is flavour and cooking. One brunch pair found the breakfast burger and chicken stack lacking in flavour, and another reviewer described cold avocado spread on one big slice of sourdough, overdone eggs, over-fried halloumi and a chicken burger so overcooked it went uneaten. That same visit noted no one came to take orders, so they ordered at the front. One reviewer also called the atmosphere dull, while another found it quiet enough to hold a meeting in peace.

“I cant say much about this cafe to be honest, it had a very dull atmosphere. We chose a table to sit ourselves, menues were given to us but no one came to take the orders, so we went to the front placed our orders paid and sat down. Food didn't take to long, not much of a menu, I orderd a vegetarian breakfast. Toast, but didnt say that avocado was going to be spread on one big slice of sourdough bread. It was awful cold and could hardly cut it. The eggs were over done not runny, one hash brown and over fried halumi. My daughter orderd a chicken burger which she didnt eat and just paid for, as it was way to over cooked. Sorry to say but I dont think we will ever be coming back here or recommend this place to anyone.”

“The cafe is very open and clean, and the staff are lovely. I got one of the salads, the portion was huge and it was very tasty - with the perfect amount of dressing. Will definitely come back to try other things 😎”

“I had a great meal at The Foundry Cafe & Kitchen! We sampled the chicken tikka and beef brisket tacos, and they were both quite tasty. The chicken tikka tacos were delicious and well-seasoned, and the brisket was soft and flavourful. Everything was flavourful, well-presented, and fresh. It's a fantastic place for a casual dinner, and I would definitely return to try other dishes. Strongly suggested!”

“This was a great establishment, food was delicious and there was a variety of options. Comfortable seating, good service, friendly owner. I got the crispy chicken stack, it was very flavourful-chicken was crispy and juicy at the same time and toppings were yummy (especially the hash brown).”
