Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the pies and roasts, with the chicken tikka masala pie described as one of the best meals in a long time and the steak and Guinness pie called fantastic. Close behind is the Sunday dinner, where one diner had the gluten free lamb and another reviewer's table got a gluten free cauliflower cheese the chef made even though it was not on the menu. Others praise the chickpea pate, the duck and the fresh wild mushroom dish, and a few mention food arriving hot, good value and friendly, attentive staff. A group of 20 reports being catered for with no delays. The main criticisms are specific: one reviewer found the Parmo alright but lacking the passion of other dishes, and another called the slow braised pork collar stringy and tough, said the chicken wings were hard to eat on a small plate, and noted being seated in the snug rather than the restaurant again. Dog friendliness gets a mention, and one regular describes the staff repeatedly checking whether tables needed more drinks.

“Absolutely amazing, came out very hot all the food! Been told how good it was before we tried and definitely lived up to the expectations! Worth every penny :)”

“We went to celebrate our anniversary. The chick pea pate was delicious. The chicken wings would have been better served on a larger plate, as they were very difficult to eat. The duck was delicious, however, the slow braised pork collar my husband was served was stringy and tough. Yet again we were served in the snug & not the restaurant.”

“Brilliant cosy pub with modern vibes We came as a large group of 20 and they catered for us with absolute ease. No delays, no fuss – just top service from start to finish. The place has that perfect mix of modern style and cosy pub feel, and the atmosphere was spot on. The food was genuinely fantastic, with both the quantity and quality exceeding expectations. Everyone in our group left full and impressed. Staff were lovely too – friendly, attentive, and nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend if you’re after a relaxed spot with great food and even better service.”

“Had a cracking Sunday dinner. I had the gluten free lamb and my partner the mixed meat roast. We also ordered gluten free cauliflower cheese (not sure this was even on the menu, but the chef said he had the stuff to make it and did this for us 😍AMAZING). It was unreal!! Probably the best Sunday Roast in the area, my photos don't do it justice. Very much enjoyed it, Thank you!!”
